Fournette’s agent claims that Fournette is in the best shape of his career and motivated to continue his NFL career.
We are officially in the “he’s in the best shape of his career” phase of the offseason, which means week 1 can’t get here soon enough. This news should be taken with a grain of salt since it was delivered by Fournette’s agent, and there haven’t been any reports this offseason of Fournette working out with NFL teams or any credible NFL sources who have seen that he’s truly “in the best shape of his career.” That hasn’t stopped Fantasy Managers from making Fournette the most trending roster add on Sleeper since the news broke.
Fantasy Managers shouldn’t overreact to this news and drop a player currently on an NFL roster for Fournette, who only scored four fantasy points all last season while being unsigned for the first half of the season, and spending most of the second half on Buffalo’s practice squad. Fournette is a name to monitor with other veterans like Dalvin Cook, who could potentially gain value if they get signed by an RB needy team. For now, Fournette belongs off Fantasy rosters.

Free agent running back Leonard Fournette officially signed with the Buffalo Bills practice squad.
After a few weeks of rumors circling around the NFL that Leonard Fournette was going to go visit the Buffalo Bills for a tryout, it looks like the veteran free agent has finally found a home. Since being discarded by the Buccaneers during the offseason, Fournette has tried out for a few teams but to no unveil until now. Fournette passed his physical today with the Bills and signed a contract to join their practice squad.
News of Fournette possibly joining Buffalo first started once Damien Harris landed on the IR list 10 days ago. The Bills running game has been mediocre at best this season. James Cook is leading the team in rushing with 486 yards for the season. After Cook it’s basically Josh Allen coming in at 189 yards rushing and Latavius Murray with 143 rushing yards to round out the top-3 rushers for the Bills. Once Fournette works his way back into shape, Fournette projects as more of a goal-line running back for the Bills, He has the size to be a banger and ability to convert third and short type scenarios once he is elevated to the main roster.
Cook should be unfazed by this signing since he will continue to be involved in the receiving game. Murray is the back that gets affected most with Fournette joining the roster. Murray should be dropped from most fantasy rosters and be kept in only the deepest of leagues, As for Fournette, fantasy managers that are in deeper 12-team leagues and desperate at running back may want to add Fournette to see how he gets intergraded into the offense. It may depend on how good of shape the veteran running back has stayed in during his free agency, but he is worth a stash in some circumstances.
