Future Hall Of Famer Aaron Donald retires after 10 seasons with the Rams
The most dominant defensive lineman of his generation, and arguably of all time, has announced his retirement after an illustrious 10-year career.
He has won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, achieved eight All-Pro Honors, and earned 10 Pro Bowl selections. In 2014, he was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and in 2022, he won a Super Bowl with the Rams. Donald has been contemplating retirement since winning the Super Bowl, so this news may not be a surprise to some.
Despite being smaller than many top defensive tackles, Donald utilized his exceptional athleticism and game intelligence to cause chaos for offenses throughout his career. He was a foundation piece to every team he has been a part of, often drawing double-teams away from his teammates, yet still managing to record a franchise record of 111 sacks as a defensive tackle, which is third in the NFL among active players.
One of the greatest defensive players to ever play the game of football. Donald is certain to be a first-ballot hall of famer when he becomes eligible for Canton.
