Before Week 4 of the NFL has come to a complete, Nick Chubb is expected to practice Week 5.
Great news for Cleveland fans, Nick Chubb is expected back to practice for the first time in 2024. Coming off a devastating knee injury in week 2 of the 2023 season. If Chubb does come off PUP and start practice, he will be eligible to play as early as week 7. This is huge news for a team trying to take advantage of a strong defense and an offense needing an identity.
The fantasy implications of Chubb returning this season is an interesting one. Chubb should provide a spark for the Browns, allowing players like Watson and Cooper to see an uptick in fantasy. Jerome Ford will of course still be a factor while slowly bringing along Chubb. I don’t expect Chubb to have any value until closer to the end of the season. Depending on how they utilize him. He is worth a deep stash for 2024.

Nick Chubb will start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list as he recovers from his brutal knee injury.
Nick Chubb is expected to miss the first 4 games of the NFL season due to his continued recovery from a devastating knee injury that ended his 2023 season early. Chubb, who has a great track record at recovering from significant injuries will still need time to onboard into the 2024 season.
Given Nick Chubb is 28 years old and has significant tread on his tires, the Browns are wise to give one of their most beloved players extra time to prepare for the 2024 season. As it sits right now, the earliest Chubb will begin playing for the Browns in 2024 is week 5 against the Washington Commanders.
The biggest beneficiary from Nick Chubb’s absence will be Jerome Ford who is going in round 10 on UnderDog. Fellow backfield mate D’Onta Foreman suffered a rib injury in the preseason game against the Seahawks so all indicators are that Jerome Ford will be a huge value to start the 2024 season. Drafters need to be selecting Jerome Ford with their closeout picks in best ball drafts and scooping value in redraft leagues where Ford goes late.
The Cleveland Browns twitter account is posting videos of Nick Chubb lifting very heavy weight, and it is impressive.
Since Nick Chubb has entered the NFL, he has been one of the most impressive athletes we have had the privilege of watching. The former 2nd round pick out of Georgia has given us countless highlights to watch during his All Pro and pro bowl seasons since joining the Browns in 2018. Last year we were robbed of another opportunity to add to the highlight reel by a grotesque injury in week 2 vs the Steelers that went viral, and left many to question whether we had seen the last of the elite Nick Chubb.
Today on the Cleveland Browns twitter page, he gave us hope that the highlights may not be over just yet. The team page posted a video of Chubb in the weight room squatting over 600 lbs for multiple reps with ease. This does not mean he will be all systems go for training camp, but it does mean that he has made some serious strides in his recovery to be able to handle that type of weight eight months after his second surgery to recover from the ACL tear he suffered last year. Chubb is priced at rb44 on Underdog fantasy currently and as redraft season is fast approaching, this may move him up the ranks rather quickly.
Nick Chubb “I like where I’m at. I’m where I need to be, I would say that. The biggest thing for me is getting better every day.”
Nick Chubb suffered a serious knee injury the second week of the 2023 NFL season after taking a big hit from Minkah Fitzpatrick. That injury changed a trajectory for the Cleveland Browns with Jerome Ford stepping in. Chubb is going into the rehab process day by day and making sure he doesn’t get ahead of himself. The Browns reworked his 2024 contract turning it into an incentivized filled contract due to the risk of his age and knee concern. Chubb is blessed to play the game of football and will continue to put in work to help get himself back onto the field.
Nick Chubb’s fantasy value is in an interesting spot in redraft and dynasty. The uncertainty of when he will actually get onto the field is up in the air and the number of touches per game Chubb received over his career will look different in 2024.
Nick Chubb will remain a Cleveland Brown in 2024 while he continues to recover from a devastating multi-ligament knee injury suffered in week 2 last season.
The Browns have chosen to keep Chubb in their backfield with a reworked contract that lowers his base salary, while giving him a chance to earn it back through performance based incentives.
This is welcome news for a player that people weren’t sure would return to the NFL after suffering his second significant injury to his left knee. Chubb clearly isn’t a regular human, as he recovered from a very similar injury while at the university of Georgia that people also thought would be career ending.
This news indicates that the Browns believe Chubb can return and be productive, while wanting to hedge their bet. Fantasy Managers should exercise caution as well, as his current pre-draft best ball ADP of 93.6 on Underdog feels way too rich, putting him ahead of players like Javonte Williams and Zamir White- runners who are the lead back on their team with less health concerns.
Nick Chubb is out for the year after gruesome knee injury sustained in Monday Night’s Week 2 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb was well on his way to having his typical uber efficient rushing night Monday at Pittsburgh Steelers. On Chubb’s last carry of the game, he ran through the Steelers defense when S Minkah Fitzpatrick dove at his left leg causing his knee to bend inwards. The video of the injury left us with little doubt right away that this was the end of Chubb’s season, and HC Kevin Stefanski said as much directly after the game. The only thing to wait for now is exactly how severe the knee injury suffered is.
This is the second major knee injury on the same leg that Chubb has sustained dating back to College. In 2015 Nick Chubb suffered a dislocation along with 3 ligament tears in the same knee he badly injured on Monday night. This second major injury on the same knee is all around horrible, it’s devastating for Chubb and the Cleveland Browns, and it’s devastating to all football fans.
In the wake of Chubb’s injury Monday night, backup second year RB out of Cincinnati Jerome Ford took over lead back responsibilities. Jerome picked up right where Chubb left off scoring a TD and 2pt conversion post Chubb’s injury. Ford ended the night with 16 carries for 106-yds on the ground and added 3 receptions on 4 targets for 25yds and a touchdown. The only other RB to get a touch was Pierre Strong who saw 3 opportunities including a one yard vultured TD following a 69 yard run by Ford. Fantasy managers should be aggressive on the waiver wire to aquire Ford if he is available, and we should monitor the Cam Akers trade drama in LA now as there seems to be a need for a RB in Cleveland now.
We wish Nick Chubb a safe and speedy recovery, you will be missed.
