Bengals Star Wideout Returns to Practice

Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday, participating in a limited fashion, per Kelsey Conway.

Higgins returning to practice is massive news for himself, quarterback Joe Burrow, and the offense as a whole. Between offseason contract disputes and a hamstring injury that’s sidelined Higgins to this point, it’s been a rocky few months. But the focus shifts to on-field impact as Higgins nears a return and intends to play out the season after signing the franchise tag in June.

In Higgins’s absence, two role players in Cincinnati’s passing attack were thrust into larger roles. Second-year receiver Andrei Iosivas has been on the field for most of the offense’s snaps and earned 10 targets over the first two games of the season. In addition, Mike Gesicki, an offseason addition to the roster, has taken advantage of Higgins missing time. He currently leads the team in receiving yards. Whether it be this week or sometime soon, once Higgins returns to the lineup, he’ll assume a prominent role in their passing attack. Iosivas and Gesicki figure to be demoted to lesser roles in due time.

Tee Higgins to Sign Franchise Tag

Tee Higgins is signing his franchise tag and will now be able to participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp.

Great news if your name is Joe Burrow or if you’re a Cincinnati Bengal fan. Tee Higgins is signing his franchise tag, allowing him to be part of the team’s activities. Higgins has been looking for a long-term contract or possible trade, even with rumors of both sides not close, it’s great to see him signing the tag. Higgins is crucial part of the Bengals offense and top 25 wide receiver in fantasy football.

By signing the tag, this puts a little more confidence for his fantasy football value for this upcoming season. Though there are still questions as to whether he will be a Bengal long term.

With No Deals in the Wake: Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins Missing OTAs
5 months ago

With voluntary off-season activities starting for the Cincinnati Bengals, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are not attending while dealing with contract concerns.

After a frustrating season in 2023 for the Bengals, not having their top two receivers at camp is not a great start in 2024. Tee Higgins still has not signed his franchise tag and continues to miss any off-season activities until a contract is agreed upon or he is traded. Chase on the other hand is not looking to be traded but will be missing time while working with the Bengals on a new deal. In Chase’s case, a lot of teams are waiting to see Justin Jefferson’s contract before making a move.

There is still a lot of uncertainty with Higgins and how this will play out for him and his future. This will affect his fantasy value in redraft and dynasty formats. Until the off-season is closer to the regular season, Higgins is someone you have to hold onto in fantasy or buy at a cheap price. Chase’s value will continue to be as high as it ever will in dynasty and a potential first round grab in most redraft formats. Contract signed or not, expect Chase to play this upcoming season.

Tee Higgins Currently Ineligible to Join the Bengals
5 months ago

Tee Higgins has not signed his franchise tag, making him ineligible to join the team for off-season activities until then.

OTAs are approaching and there continues to be a gap between the Cincinnati Bengals and Tee Higgins. Higgins has yet to sign his franchise tag and has until next week to do so, otherwise he will not be able to participate in the team’s off-season team activities. With the contract situation unresolved, the trade of Higgins could still be a factor.

This is something to continue to monitor all off-season for the premier wide receiver. Affecting his fantasy value in all aspects, redraft or dynasty, but more so this upcoming redraft season. This also affects Joe Burrow, who is coming off an injury riddled season a missing Higgins in OTAs and Tyler Boyd signing with another team.

Tee Higgins Anticipates Staying in Cincinnati
7 months ago

In an interview, Tee Higgins anticipates staying in Cincy.

During a youth football camp, Tee Higgins was asked during an interview about the off-season and next steps for him. Being asked if he plans to stay in Cincinnati, Tee Higgins said “I do anticipate it. I’ve grown a love for Cincy that I didn’t think I would. But I’m looking forward to it.”

Tee Higgins was franchise tagged this off-season which frustrated him, leading up to a trade request. Contracts continue to be discussed and nothing is off the table, yet after hearing his interest in staying in Cincinnati, Higgins and the Bengals have some work ahead of them to work out a contract both parties can agree upon.

Tee Higgins Requests Trade

Tee Higgins has asked the Cincinnati Bengals to trade him after being franchise-tagged.

Two weeks ago the Cincinnati Bengals placed the franchise tag on Tee Higgins. Now, Tee Higgins is requesting the Bengals trade him.

Reports are that the Higgins camp has not been in contact with the Bengals since March of 2023. The Bengals have claimed they wanted to get a long term deal done. This has become a messy situation for all parties and may not be resolved soon.
