The Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with wide receiver Quintez Cephus who was reinstated a week ago for violating the league’s gambling policy.
After being suspended all last season for violating the league’s gambling policy, wide receiver Quintez Cephus gets a chance at a fresh start. The Bills have a gaping hole in their wide receiver room after trading Stefon Diggs to the Texans before the draft. With his departure, there are 160 targets available and the Bills hope that Cephus can fill some of that void.
Before his suspension, Cephus was only a role player with the Detroit Lions. In three seasons he only played in 22 games and accumulated 37 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns. Cephus has never had more than four receptions in a game.
Now that he is playing with the Bills, Cephus gets an upgrade at quarterback with Josh Allen throwing him the ball. Since there is no true WR1 on the roster, Cephus will have a chance to carve out a role for himself in this offense. In deeper dynasty leagues you may want to think about picking him off waivers if you have an extra space on your roster to see how he fits in. In redraft leagues, he is just a player to monitor for now.
