Rhamondre Stevenson is an NFL running back for the New England Patriots from San Pablo, California. Stevenson played two seasons of college football at the University of Oklahoma and the Patriots drafted Stevenson in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 120th overall selection. Before Stevenson arrived in Norman, he attended Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was named the Las Vegas Sun High School Player of the Year in 2015.
From there, Stevenson played two seasons at Cerritos College, which springboarded him to a scholarship with Oklahoma. As a Sooner, Stevenson split time with multiple running backs. He averaged 7.15 yards per carry on 165 rushes, however, and added 28 receptions for 298 yards as a receiver. Despite the limited work in college and a relatively slow 40-time, the Patriots saw enough to bring him into their organization.
Rhamondre Stevenson ran roughshod over the NFL in his first preseason (2021). He rumbled for 217 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries during preseason games. An early fumble put Stevenson in Bill Belichick’s doghouse and prevented him from bringing that preseason production into the regular season. He got a shot again in Week 10, however, after starter Damien Harris was ruled out due to an injury. Stevenson rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in his first game as a regular season starter.
Stevenson ended his rookie season with 606 yards and five touchdowns on 133 carries and added 14 receptions for 123 yards. Over the course of his rookie season, his 33.2-percent Snap Share, 77 routes run and 5.5-percent Target Share were not noteworthy, but his 35.4-percent Juke Rate ranked No. 4 at the position. He was efficient, ranking No. 17 in True Yards Per Carry (4.5), No. 25 in Yards Per Touch (5.0) and No. 21 in Yards Created Per Touch (3.09). Stevenson ended his rookie season as the RB42, just exceeding his RB47 ADP.
In his second season (2022), Stevenson played a full 17 games for the Patriots. He ran for 1,040 yards, adding 69 receptions for 421 receiving yards. He also had a 40.5-percent (No. 3) Juke Rate and 3.43 (No. 6) Yards Created Per Touch. His usage as a receiver was key to his fantasy value. He saw 89 (No. 3) targets in a Matt Patricia offense. Stevenson's production waned in 2023. He recorded just 619 yards rushing and 238 yards receiving on a 59.1 (No. 22) Opportunity Share while competing for backfield touches with Ezekiel Elliott.
