Rakim Jarrett was a five-star wide receiver and 2020's No. 20 ranked recruit before committing to Maryland. In a COVID-shortened season, Jarrett finished second on the team in receptions (17) and receiving yards (252) behind upperclassman Dontay Demus.
The following season saw Jarrett ascend as the primary option in the passing game after Demus was injured and limited to five games. Jarrett led Maryland in receptions (62), yards (829), and touchdowns (5) while playing alongside future NFL tight end, Chigoziem Okonkwo. Jarrett missed a couple of games in 2022 and finished third on the team in receiving (471 yards). He finished his three-year Maryland career tenth in receiving touchdowns (10), 11th in career receptions (119), and 13th in career receiving yards (1552) in 28 games played.
