After struggling to find his footing at Virginia Tech, Hooker transferred in 2021 to Tennessee. At Virginia Tech, Hooker hovered around 63% completions, with 7 interceptions. During two seasons at Tennessee, Hooker elevated his play exponentially, completing 68.5% of his passes, and throwing 58 touchdowns with just 5 interceptions in 24 games.
Prior to a Tearing his ACL against South Carolina in November, it was expected that if the Volunteers(9-1) could win out, that Hooker would have a great opportunity at winning the 2022 Heisman Trophy. However, it was not meant to be, as the 25-year-old suffered a Torn ACL and missed the remainder of the 2022 campaign.
