Jarek Broussard was a 3-star prospect from Dallas, TX. He committed to Colorado where he wouldn't see action for 2 seasons. The first was a redshirt year in 2018. In 2019, he tore his ACL which cost him the entire season. In 2020, he burst onto the scene in Boulder rushing for 895 yards and touchdowns. His performance earned him the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. However the following season, the Colorado Buffs would go on to lost a lot of talent to the transfer portal resulting in Broussards lack luster 661 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. It was clear he needed to leave and after seeing Kennth Walker's success in the Mel Tucker offense, he transferred to Michigan State for the 2022 season. At Michigan State, Broussard was part of a backup duo along with Elijah Collins. Both backed up leading rusher Jalen Berger. In this committee, Jarek rused for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was more effecient on a YPC basis than his backfield mates.
