Camerun Peoples was an unranked recruit out of Lineville, AL. He received offers from multiple smaller schools, but chose to attend Appalachian State, a school known for knocking out big dogs. Even though he technically redshirted his freshman year, he showed promise when he played. In only 3 games, he amassed 164 yards and 2 touchdowns at an efficient 9.6 yards per carry. Unfortunately, the following season he suffered a knee injury which knocked him out for the entire season. He hit career highs the following season, putting up 1,124 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. While not as effiecient as his first year, he maintained a respectable 6.7 yards per carry. Not bad for an unranked prospect. He followed up that display with another solid year. Camerun Peoples ran for 926 yards and 14 touchdowns. In his final season, he had to compete with Nate Noel for back field touches. His production fell to 593 yards and 5 touchdowns. The redshirt junior did just enough though to receive an invite to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.
