Blake Whitehart joined Wake Forest as a part of their 2018 recruiting class. Whitehart was recruited as a three-star athlete and played all five years at Wake Forest inlcuding playing in three games as a true freshman. Whitehart's best season came in 2021 as a redshirt junior. In 2021, Whitehart caught 15 passes, totaled 185 receiving yards, and caught three touchdown passes averaging 12.3 yards per reception. Whitehart often played his best football against the best competition. He scored touchdowns against Virginia and Clemson and helped clinch the ACC Atlantic Division title with his third touchdown catch in 2021.
