The Brock Purdy Fantasy Brilliance was all on display in Week 13! This is NFL Week 13 Fantasy Football Takeaways! It was a really high scoring week for fantasy in Week 13! Seahawks vs Cowboys, Niners vs Eagles, and Lions vs Saints gave us some great fantasy games!
We especially saw 2021 type of performances from DK Metcalf and Deebo Samuel who absolutely won you weeks if you played them.
Now it’s time for America’s favorite segment!
I present to you, the Quick Takes Starting Lineup.
Quick Takes Starting Lineup
QB: Is Geno Smith all the way back?
RB: Devon Achane is definitely all the way back!
RB: Chuba Hubbard’s best game came after Frank Reich was fired. Coincidence?
WR: Nico Collins is a MUST START with Tank Dell out.
WR: Mike Evans is going to be so good on the Chiefs next year.
TE: Trey McBride, I tried to tell y’all…
FLEX: You should still be buying Devonta Smith in Dynasty.
SFLEX: Joe Flacco still has enough in the tank to lift up these Cleveland pass catchers!
Takeaway No. 1: Brock Purdy is Who I Said He Was!
Three weeks ago, I said you needed to trade and/or start Brock Purdy.
Since then, he has been a top three scoring QB in two of the last three weeks, and I don’t think he’s going to be slowing down.
Next week he’s at home against Seattle who have allowed the No. 13 most points to QBs and just got SHREDDED by Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.
In Week 15, the 49ers go to Arizona who have allowed the No. 9 most points to QBs.
Baltimore in Week 16 will be a tough one, as they’ve allowed the least points to QBs. However, in Week 17 (fantasy championship week) he gets Washington. They have allowed THE MOST fantasy points to QBs this season.
The bottom line is that when Purdy has all of his weapons healthy and in the lineup, he is as good of a fantasy option as any other.
Do not over think this and make sure Brock Purdy is in your lineup week in and week out.
Takeaway No. 2: When are We Going to Accept that Puka Nacua is for Real
As long as Puka is in a game with Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay, he is a guy that should be in your lineups.
There has been a lot of dynasty talk centered around Nacua and whether or not he’s actually a guy you should be building your team around. Well, I think he finally put those questions to bed this week after going for 4/105/1 against a really good Cleveland defense. More importantly, he did it with Cooper Kupp in the lineup.
Another stat that jumped out to me was the fact Puka has been targeted 7+ times in every single game he’s played this season. There’s not a lot of players in the league who can say that.
Yes, he has had some mediocre games this season. However, it’s not because they weren’t trying to get him the ball. As the saying goes, “targets are earned.” Nacua is earning everything that he’s gotten in the league.
Nacua is a must start in the fantasy playoffs. The Rams play Washington in Week 15 (No. 2 most points allowed to WRs) and the Giants in Week 17 (No. 5 most points allowed to WRs).
In Dynasty, I would treat him the same way people are treating guys like Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Brandon Aiyuk. He’s a legitimate player who can be a starter on a contending roster.
Takeaway No. 3: Joe Flacco is Great for Amari Cooper
Joe Flacco isn’t the Super Bowl winning QB he used to be. However, he still has a lot left in the tank to uplift these Cleveland pass catchers, especially Amari Cooper.
Cooper left the game in the second quarter with a concussion. Before he left Cooper was targeted five times caught three passes for 34 yards.
Yes, I know that’s not the most glamorous stat line. However, if he played the full game, we would have seen a really good game from him.
Also, Flacco has a reputation for feeding his No. 1 wideouts. For example, when Flacco started those three games with the Jets last year, Garrett Wilson was the WR15 over that span, averaging 11 targets, six catches, 71 yards and had two TDs in three games.
We could see a very similar situation between Flacco and Cooper in the coming weeks if Cooper is in the lineup. Therefore, Cooper can be a strong flex play in fantasy lineups with the fantasy playoffs looming!
