University of Tennesse Running Back Jaylen Wright goes to the Miami Dolphins with the 120th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Jaylen Wright is another speedster out of University of Tennesse. Wright played for the Volunteers in 2021 to 2023, as a freshman he was a backup but appeared in 9 games rushing for 409. He followed that up with leading the team with 875 rushing yards as a backup. Finally, in 2023 he got the shot to be the starter and took full advantage of it, rushing for 1,013 yards as well as having 22 catches for 141 yards receiving.
At the Combine, Wright helped himself out with very impressive numbers! He measured in at 5’10” and 210 pounds. He ran out of his shoes with 4.38 40-yard dash, jumping out of the room with 38″ vertical, and a broad jump of 11’2″. These numbers at the Combine showed his freak athleticism and his sprinter speed.
If you got speed the Dolphins will take you, and they did with the 120th pick in the draft. He will first take a back seat role to Raheem Mostert and De’von Achane. But we have seen in previous seasons Mostert battles with injuries and Achane did as well last season. Wright does have a comparison to Alvin Kamara, which both came out of Tennesse.
