The Pittsburgh Steelers have drafted N.C. State Linebacker, Payton Wilson, with the 98th pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
Wilson had a tremendous Senior Year, winning a host of defensive awards to go along with his First-team Associated Press All-American nod. He will immediately upgrade the overall defense for the Steelers as a player who excels in both stopping both the run and passing game.
To go along with his tremendous production, Wilson further turned heads at the combine, running a 4.43 40-yard dash while standing at a physically imposing 6’4″ and weighing 233 lbs. He’s had some injury concerns that may have pushed him down draft boards, but has the potential to be an immediate starter and should be on IDP radars.
