Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos are keeping their options open and are open to bringing back Russell Wilson for the 2024 season. Not surprising, the Broncos are open to bringing him back, Wilson, whose 39 million dollar contract is fully guaranteed regardless of if he plays or not for the Broncos in 2024. The Broncos have been actively trying to move off of this contract ever since they chose to bench Wilson for the final 2 weeks of the 2023 regular season.
The market will be telling after free agency and the NFL Draft, and if the Broncos can move on from Wilson via trade, they will no doubt do so. Alternatively, if no other NFL team has interest in Wilson and the massive price tag that comes along with his contract, the Broncos could look at approaching Wilson again about the possibility of him restructuring his deal to make it more team friendly. Currently, the Broncos have Russell Wilson and Jarrett Stidham under contract for the 2024 season. There are a lot of moving parts in Denver this offseason and the 2024 NFL draft will start to give us some clarity on where the Broncos see the future for them at the Quarterback position.
