Bo Nix
Bo is Trying to Nix Any Age Concerns at the NFL Combine
9 months ago

Bo Nix is out to prove his performance at Oregon wasn’t a fluke.

Bo Nix is one of the quarterbacks throwing at the NFL Combine. While not running the 40 yard dash, Nix will avoid shade from ‘hand size Twitter’ crowd with his 10 1/8’’ hands. At 6’2’’ and 214 lbs, Nix just turned 24 years old in February. The overarching question will be, was Bo Nix a product of the system at Oregon or is there something to be had at the next level for the NFL? As an older rookie there will be questions as to why he didn’t do better sooner.

In an interview with ProFootballTalk, Bo Nix expressed that he can process information at a really high level as his main strength. Nix mentioned things being stale at Auburn leading him to wanting more at Oregon. Bo Nix got more as he was the 2023 Pac-12 offensive player of the year. With a 72.1 and 77.4 completion percentage in 2022 and 2023 respectively, Bo was able to revive his college career.

With arm strength a criticism Nix faces, he was quick to cite Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford as players who can make something out of nothing when not stepping into their passes. Nix feels he is a better post snap player vs. pre-snap. Bo’s 4,508 passing yards, 45 passing TD to only 3 INT indicate this is a valid contention.

Bo Nix is not projecting into the 1st round. With NFL mock draft destinations in the 2nd round this opens the range of outcomes to not being drafted to be an immediate starter. The Panthers have the 33rd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Real signal for Bo Nix would be a team having time overnight into Day 2 of the draft and trading up to get Bo Nix. A lack of a trade up or aggression with the early 2nd round picks would be an indicator that the NFL doesn’t think too highly of Bo Nix. Currently, Bo Nix is 5th in our Player Profiler rookie quarterback rankings.
