Running Back Joe Mixon has signed a 3-year, $27 million contract extension with the Houston Texans.
After trading for running back Joe Mixon by sending a 7th round pick to the Bengals, the Tennessee Titans hand Mixon a 3-year, $27 million with $13 million in guarantees. The price is steep for a running back with his previous workload and what will be his age 28 season. Mixon has been very productive in his 7 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Mixon rushed for 6,412 yards for 49 rushing touchdowns along with 283 catches with 2,139 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.
The Houston Texans are all in for the Super Bowl this season, trying to capitalize on the cheap rookie deal quarterback CJ Stroud is locked into. Bringing in star pass rusher Danielle Hunter and Joe Mixon, along with re-signing tight end Dalton Schultz the Texans want to win their division in back to back seasons, with a shot at the Super Bowl.
Mixon time with the Texans may be his last time is a viable fantasy pick. Dynasty managers are wise to sell high projecting Mixon to play well with Stroud. Mixon is a good late round pick in your standard leagues with his receiving upside.
