Jameson Williams Finishes as a Top 10 Fantasy WR
The stars are aligning for another massive game from Jameson Williams this Sunday. Not only is Sam LaPorta out against a Jaguars defense that gets thrashed by athletic tight ends, but he is a specific matchup problem himself in this matchup. The Jags have struggled to contain vertical threats this season, allowing big games to DeVonta Smith (87 yds, TD), Alec Pierce (134 yds, TD), Nico Collins (151 yds, TD) and Tyreek Hill (130 yds, TD). Jamo is certainly more of a downfield threat than his teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown. Further, Williams gets to play at his favorite place…Ford Field in Detroit.
Williams at home averages 5.6 targets, 3.2 receptions, and 66.8 receiving yards in his last 5 games. On the road, those averages drop to 3.2 targets, 2 receptions, and 32.6 receiving yards. He loves getting up for the home crowd and Ben Johnson loves getting in his bag to show off for home fans. I’m predicting Williams, who has a TD in 2 of his last 3 home games and 75+ yards in 4 of his first 5 games this season, will have over 115 yards receiving and a score against the Jags.
Nick Chubb has a Flashback Game: Rushes for 150+ Yards & 2 TD’s
My start of the week at running back, I’m ready for a classic Nick Chubb performance. He’s been getting great opportunities, seeing an averaging of 16 targets and carries per game since returning to the lineup. He also faces off against a Saints’ run-funnel defense that’s been getting thrashed by opposing running backs. For weeks on end, running backs have had their way against the Saints’ defense and posted solid fantasy performances. The Saints are allowing the 2nd-most yards per rush attempts to opposing backs on the season, and have allowed 4 backs to clear 100 rushing yards over the last 8 games.
In what has been an incredible feel-good story this season, I won’t be surprised when the Browns lean on Chubb to let their franchise-great get at least one more classic performance in before his tank hits empty.
Anthony Richardson SHREDS the Colts for 20+ Fantasy Points & a Win
There’s not many stats here to back this up, but I loved what I heard from Richardson this week following the benching. It truly seems like there was a switch that flipped in regards to Richardson’s mentality, and I think there’s a chip on his shoulder going into this week’s start. Richardson has the tools to beat any team deep and with his legs…he just needs to hit the easy stuff and build their passing offense off the foundation of their run game.
I asked #Colts QB Anthony Richardson how he thinks he’s grown during his benching:
“I’ve been trying to focus on sacrificing more. The guys asking me to do certain things, even if I didn’t feel like doing it, man, you gotta do it because it’s sacrifice. … “ pic.twitter.com/eaTNntHnKF

Maybe it’s just not something he’ll learn, but maybe there’s been something bigger than ability that’s hindered Richardson’s growth. I’m making this call because I want to see it happen. The Jets are borderline lifeless and have a defense that’s lost. The Jets just allowed Russell Wilson to complete over 90-percent of his passes and throw for over 250 passing yards with multiple touchdowns. They are beaten down. I want A-Rich to prove the doubters wrong. I want him to be the real deal, and I want to see it in emphatic fashion this Sunday.
Caleb Williams Proves Why He Was the No. 1 Pick, Beats Green Bay
Again, not something I can back up with a lot of stats, but I refuse to believe this Bears’ QB cycle is going to continue. I cannot and will not abandon my priors on Caleb Williams so quickly. This is one of the best quarterback prospects we’ve ever seen. My hope is that Eberflus and Thomas Brown sit Williams down and tell him to play loose, from the gut.
You can feel Caleb thinking too much as he goes through his reads. It feels different than Justin Fields. Fields couldn’t progress. I still think Caleb can. This week is Caleb’s biggest game of his career thus far. At home, against the franchise that’s owned your city for years. One win, one game can turn the vibes of this entire season around. The locker room vibes are perfect for this game. The players are frustrated and Shane Waldron is gone. They’ll be motivated, particularly against this division rival, to give this game their all. This is the kind of moment Caleb Williams was built for.
T.J. Hockenson is TE1 on the Week
T.J. Hockenson is already back to dominating the stat sheet and soaking up targets. In his second game back from injury, Hockenson logged 9 targets (2 Red Zone) on just a 67-percent Route Share and produced 72 yards. He finished as TE5 in PPR leagues last week, and there’s still room to grow. As he gets more comfortable with his knee, he’ll get back to making more after-the-catch plays. His Red Zone Target Share, currently a pretty healthy 18-percent, should increase as he becomes more confident as well.
On the season, Tennessee allows nearly 65-percent (7th) of all Red Zone drives to end in a touchdown. In a get-right game for Minnesota, I expect the passing game to put up some numbers. I think Hockenson has a similar stat-line as last week but finds the end zone and finishes the week as the overall TE1.
