This is Dynasty Ups and Downs. Each week, I will present players to buy and sell (Dynasty trades to make) based on their evaluation in the Dynasty marketplace. As we all know, Dynasty fantasy football is an ever-changing landscape, and the best way to succeed is to stay one step ahead of the competition. This article aims to do just that.

Below, Seth Diewold gives guidance on dynasty trades to make – identifying players who are buys and sells in dynasty.
Dynasty Buys
Ladd McConkey
At 23 years of age, Ladd McConkey appears to be picking up the Chargers offensive scheme rather quickly. He is the primary target earner in the offense, although it is an offense that can bog down in positive game scripts. McConkey is showing signs of being an very efficient player as well. He ranks No. 18 in yards after the catch amongst wide receivers, and although his ADOT is lower than we’d like it to be (No. 64 amongst wide receivers), McConkey is making up for it with target volume which should only increase in the coming weeks.
Rachaad White
Over the past four weeks, Rachaad White has averaged 19 fantasy points per game. He’s the RB23 on the season and the RB23 in fantasy points per game, and hasn’t yet turned 26 years old.
According to Keep Trade Cut’s Dynasty Rankings, White is the RB30. To me, he is the ultimate win now and win later piece for contenders making a push for a championship. Plus, the playoff schedule for this season is nice:
@ Chargers
@ Cowboys
vs Panthers
Rome Odunze
I’ll let everyone in on the worst kept secret in Dynasty right now. The Bears are not bringing back Keenan Allen next year, and they have many holes on their roster that include multiple positions on the offensive and defensive lines. Not only that, but Rome Odunze leads the Bears in receiving yards as a rookie and is developing a nice rapport with fellow rookie and quarterback Caleb Williams.
Given the overall state of his performance this year (Odunze is the WR49 overall and the WR56 in fantasy points per game). There may be a frustrated Dynasty manager out there, and if that is the case, take advantage! According to Keep Trade Cut’s Dynasty Rankings, which factor in the values of rookie picks, it’s possible to swap a mid-2025 first round rookie pick for Odunze.
Dynasty Sells
C.J. Stroud
I wrote about C.J. Stroud last week, but I believe it bears repeating he is the most overrated fantasy asset right now. Currently, he is the QB6 in Keep Trade Cut’s Dynasty Superflex rankings. On the season, Stroud is the QB17 and is putting up 14.3 fantasy points per game, which ranks No. 25 amongst quarterbacks. The return of Nico Collins could give Stroud a boost this week against the Titans, but I’m not betting on it. If a Dynasty manager can get back what Stroud is currently worth on the market, it would be wise to do so.
Garrett Wilson
Garrett Wilson is having his best season. Currently, he is the WR5 overall and the WR11 in fantasy points per game. The problem is over the past two weeks we have seen a decrease in his usage. Over the past two weeks, Wilson has seen an average of seven targets, and he has turned them into an average of around 7.5 fantasy points per game. Meanwhile, Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers’ bro-mance partner on the football field, has seen an average of 10 targets in the past two games and has averaged around 11 fantasy points per game.
Clearly, the two Jets receivers are eating into each other’s volume with Adams being the winner in recent weeks. This is going to slow the immediate production for the fantasy playoffs, and we also have to consider the uncertainty at the quarterback position for the Jets going forward. If I can cash out for some immediate production, that is probably for the best.
J.K. Dobbins
There is no question that J.K. Dobbins is having a phenomenal year. He is the RB14 overall and the RB14 in fantasy points per game thus far. Dobbins is a perfect fit for the Chargers offense, but the problem going forward is that Gus Edwards is now healthy. Edwards’s usage hasn’t affected Dobbins’s production much yet, but the fact that Dobbins has dealt with major injuries in the past leads me to believe the Chargers won’t deploy him as a bell cow down the stretch. This is likely the highest Dobbins’s value will ever be. Therefore, it is wise to sell high.
Conclusion
When it comes to dynasty buys and sells, some of the best moves are often the hardest to make. Staying one step ahead of the competition is important, and sometimes that means making moves that others will disagree with. That’s okay. Different people have different opinions about player values.
And while it is true that not every trade will work out, if you win more than you lose, chances are your Dynasty team will be successful in the long run. Stay tuned for more advice, and feel free to DM me any questions you may have on twitter (see the handle at the bottom of the page). Until next time, happy trading, and best of luck to your dynasty teams this season!
