Throughout the 2020 NFL Season, I will dig through the five best props each week on MKF. I will preview the coming week, and review the results from the past. Starting Week 1 off with a $200 budget, and a $5-10 target per prop.
Week 9 Review
The two best running backs in the NFL were on the slate in Week 8 and they delivered. Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffrey combined for four touchdowns, hitting the cash without D’Andre Swift. It was a different story in the More/Less Props, going 0-3 with what should have been a gimme pick in Tampa Bay with Tom Brady passing for just 209 yards.
Finishing 1-of-5 on Sunday dropped our season total by $20, we currently sit at $220.
Week 10
We have run extremely cold the last few weeks, but in Week 10, we will flip the regression map. We’re doubling back to Touchdown Dance and chasing a juicy matchup in Green Bay before taking a trip around to four quarterback More/Less Props.
No. 1) Jacksonville @ Green Bay: Touchdown Dance
Prop: Aaron Jones, Davante Adams, and James Robinson over 2.5 Touchdowns.
Aaron Jones was activated late prior to the Week 9 matchup with San Francisco and didn’t score a touchdown for the first time in 2020. Next up for Jones is Jacksonville, whose 10 touchdowns allowed to running backs ranks No. 27 in the league. While Jones has averaged 1.2 touchdowns per game, Davante Adams averages 1.33 touchdowns per game and draws first-round rookie C.J. Henderson this week. Coming off a 10-173-1 game in San Francisco, Adams in his prime at home is free money.
With four touchdowns over the last three weeks, James Robinson enters Week 10 ranked No. 6 among qualified running backs with 580 rushing yards. Jake Luton debuted on Sunday for Jacksonville and Robinson logged a season-high 25 rushing attempts. Entering Week 10, Green Bay is tied for dead last with 15 touchdowns allowed to running backs. Jones and Robinson is the Smash of the Week for Monkey Knife Fight Touchdown Props.
No. 2) Buffalo @ Arizona: More or Less
Prop: Josh Allen over 275.5 yards, Kyler Murray over 261.5 yards
Josh Allen went berserk in Week 9 with his second 400-plus yard passing performance of the season against Seattle. In Week 10, he draws an Arizona defense that has dealt with injury and COVID designations; one that’s ranked No. 25 and has given up 280 yards per game in the last three. Allen is playing at an MVP level, having passed for over 285 yards in 6 of 9 games.
Kyler Murray is the No. 1 quarterback in fantasy football, passing for over 270 yards in 5 of 8 games and 360-plus in two of the last four. The Buffalo Bills are No. 15 against the pass and traveling across the country to play a Cardinals team that lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer to Miami. Expect this to be the shootout of the week with both defensive backfields struggling outside of their top cornerback.
No. 3) Denver @ Las Vegas: More or Less
Prop: Drew Lock over 253.5 yards, Derek Carr over 241.5 yards
In two career indoor games, Drew Lock has passed for 309 and 313 yards, the only such 300-yard games of his career. Not only is Las Vegas indoors, but they are also ranked No. 30 at home, allowing 318 passing yards in each game. With Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler breaking out, and with Tim Patrick healthy, Lock is a smash in Week 10.
Through 9 weeks, Derek Carr is Top-10 with a 77.0 (No. 10) Total QBR, 8.2 (No. 6) Adjusted Yards Per Attempt, and a 71.4-percent (No. 5) Play Action Completion Percentage. Carr threw for over 260 yards in each of the Raider’s first six games before regressing to under 200 in each of the last two. In three homes games, Carr is averaging 293 yards passing against just 224 yards on the road.
No. 4) Seattle @ Los Angeles: More or Less
Prop: Jared Goff over 306.5 yards, Russell Wilson over 305.5 yards
Coming off a season-high 355-yard performance against the Miami Dolphins and a bye Week, Jared Goff is primed for another career game. Seattle has given up five 360-plus yard passing games so far this season, with just one opponent finishing under 299 yards. Goff is no stranger to throwing the ball, finishing with over 300 yards on six occasions last year.
As bad as Seattle’s defense has been, the offense has been better. The defense ranks No. 30 in Points Per Game allowed, while the offense is No. 1 in scoring at 34 points per game. Russell Wilson has thrown for over 300 yards five times already in 2020, including all four road games. Expect fireworks in Los Angeles Sunday afternoon when Goff and Wilson face off.
No. 5) The Podfathers Prop of the Week – Los Angeles @ Miami: More or Less
Prop: Justin Herbert over 275.5 yards, Tua Tagovailoa over 245.5 yards
Tune in to the Monkey Knife Fight Prop Cast Happy Hour every Friday night for The Podfather’s top props of the week. Catch it every Friday at 5:00 PM ET.
This week, The Podfather sees the first of many matchups between Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert being a shootout. Herbert has passed for less than 278 yards just once, in Week 5 at New Orleans where he finished with 268 yards. In his second career start, Tagovailoa looks to capitalize on a Chargers secondary that is vulnerable to the deep ball while missing cornerback Chris Harris to injury.
