Week 15 Defensive Streamers for Fantasy Football 2024: Best D/ST Options to Start

by Jonathan Lange · Fantasy Football

These are the Defensive Rankings Week 15 – Top Streaming Options! It’s playoff time! If you’re reading this, congratulations on reaching the fantasy playoffs. Some of you are fortunate enough to be in a league where you have something to play for in your consolation bracket. Whatever the case may be, you are an elite fantasy player to be making moves that count this late in the season.

Last week was not our best week with duds posted up by both Arizona and Chicago. Tennessee was our lone suggestion that worked out, chalking up two turnovers and only allowing one touchdown. Now that it’s playoff SZN, I feel confident in what we have available over the next two weeks. There are 10 teams in action on Sunday with point totals lower than 21 points! With so many low team totals, the defense streaming options are superb.

I’m going to start this list off with two options that are slightly above the 60% roster threshold, but if these options are available, they could provide a key advantage in your fantasy playoffs.

Washington Commanders (Available in 57%) vs. New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr is out, and the Commanders are rested coming off a bye. At this time, the Saints have yet to announce a starter, but here’s what we know: In Spencer Rattler‘s three starts, he was sacked 14 times. Jake Haener hasn’t made much of an impression with the 28 passing attempts in games this season. The Saints have the No. 2 lowest team total at 18, making the Commanders my favorite option to stream.

New York Jets (Available in 50%) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jets will likely be without Sauce Gardner, but against Mac Jones, does it matter? This is a play if you want to take a safe option, as the Jags have yet to score 21 points with Mac Jones as a starter. He’s only been sacked seven times over his past five games, so he’s done well at getting the ball out before pressure arrives. But with an 18.5-point total, this is an easy option.

Below are my options that are available in 60% or more of Yahoo leagues. To be clear, the Commanders are my favorite option. These options listed below are fine, but there is some risk to them.

Cincinnati Bengals (Available in 64%) vs. Tennessee Titans

The stoppable force against the moveable object. The Titans have been horrendous on offense, proving their ineptitude last Sunday when they scored six points against a weak Jaguars defense. The Bengals are near the bottom of the barrel in total offensive yards allowed, and outside of Trey Hendrickson, there’s not much talent. Will Levis hurt his shoulder last week, and while he did return, there is concern about the injury lingering. I do not love this option, but when writing a streaming column, you are legally required to recommend the Titans opponent.

Arizona Cardinals (Available in 62%) vs. New England Patriots

“Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!” Michael Corleone couldn’t have said it better. Most others and I were touting the Cardinals last Sunday, and they put up a massive dud. They gave up 30 points, all while forcing zero turnovers and creating zero sacks.

Now the Cardinals get the Patriots at home. The Patriots have allowed an average of three sacks per game, which is a nice floor for scoring. Add in that the Patriots are No. 7 in most giveaways, creating the perfect get-right spot for the Cardinals defense.

Atlanta Falcons (Available in 72%) vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Desmond Ridder revenge game?! Sign me up! The Raiders are down to Ridder and practice squad call-up Carter Bradley. The problem with this recommendation is that the Falcons aren’t a great defense. Plus, the offense has had issues staying on the field, placing the already weak defense into compromising situations. But the hope in playing the Falcons is that Ridder has been sacked seven times this season despite never playing a full game. If the Falcons can keep the pressure on Ridder, then they should finish as a top eight option on the week.

I would rank these streamers in the following order: Washington, Cincinnati, Arizona, Atlanta, New York Jets.

Week 16 Options to Stash:

Green Bay Packers (vs. New Orleans Saints)

If your team is on a bye, go get Green Bay. They get the Saints at home on Monday Night Football.

The Saints will be without Chris Olave and Derek Carr.

Indianapolis Colts (vs. Tennessee Titans)

The Colts’ defense is average; however, the Titans offense is far below average.
