This is the defensive streamers Week 4 article! I made a commitment to you, the reader, that I would provide better options in Week 3. I nailed two selections with Green Bay and Seattle. Both combined for 14 sacks on Sunday!
Unfortunately, I was blindsided by Andy Dalton with my Raiders selection. And Bo Nix handled the Buccaneers defense with ease. Nevertheless, it has been a good season for defensive streamers.
You can tell by ownership numbers alone that an increasing number of managers are streaming. On Monday, Miami was rostered in 47% of leagues. Now they are rostered at 68%. Remember, if you have a top defense such as the Jets, Steelers, or Bears, you can ignore these. These options are only for those who are left with a bad defense or looking to stream week-to-week.

Tennessee Titans (19%) vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins’ first game without Tua Tagovailoa went horribly wrong last Sunday. The quarterbacks were sacked six times, and the offense only mustered three points. The Miami offense produced only 205 total yards of offense. There could be a change at quarterback, with Tyler Huntley rumored to be the starting quarterback after joining the team on September 17th. Huntley could ball out and play himself into a starting gig for a few weeks. But Vegas isn’t expecting much with a team total of 18 assigned to the Dolphins. The Titans defense ranks No. 5 in total yards allowed per game, making this matchup all the more enticing. Tennessee is my favorite streamer of the week.
Las Vegas Raiders (26%) vs. Cleveland Browns
The Raiders got scorched last week against Carolina, so I feel incredibly gross suggesting them as an option this week. But hear me out! Cleveland has allowed 16 sacks this season. The Browns offense has produced an average of only three plays of 20 yards or more per game this year. Andy Dalton cooked the Raiders, but I do not see Antonio Pierce posting two back-to-back letdowns.
Jack Conklin returned to the starting lineup Sunday, but All-Pro guard Wyatt Teller was recently moved to the IR. The Browns offensive struggles will continue until a quarterback change happens.
Atlanta Falcons (5%) vs. New Orleans Saints
It’s a rough week to be a defensive streamer, but Atlanta could provide hope for those in need. The Saints offense was rolling through the first two weeks of the season before getting stymied against the Eagles Sunday. To make matters worse, Center Erik McCoy will be out some time due to an injury sustained against Philadelphia. The Falcons’ defense is a middle-of-the road option, but they have Grady Jarrett and Matt Judon on the defensive line. New Orleans has an unimpressive 20-point team total, so I’m fine with the Dirty Birds. Not my favorite selection, but there isn’t much out there to choose this week.
The “Not-in-my-league” option
Reminder: this is only for the most desperate. I would recommend the other defenses above before rostering this defense.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22%) vs. Philadelphia Eagles
If I felt gross suggesting the Raiders, then I have hit a new low with this suggestion! There isn’t much going into this game that statistically favors Tampa, but there is some serious concern with Philadelphia.
The Eagles could be without A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, making Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert shoulder the load this Sunday. If the starting receivers remain out on Sunday, the Bucs defense could be fine. Not the greatest option of the week, but a fine option.
Week 5 Options to Stash
New England Patriots (4%) vs. Miami Dolphins – Tua will be out of action until week seven.
Green Bay Packers (31%) vs. Los Angeles Rams – No Cooper Kupp or Puka Nacua for LA.
