The Dynasty QB Rankings Landscape

2024 was a year that brought seismic shifts in the dynasty landscape, especially at the QB position. Last offseason, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts made up the top tier in dynasty superflex drafts. Another MVP-caliber season from Lamar Jackson, a mediocre fantasy scoring season from Patrick Mahomes and a breakout rookie season for Jayden Daniels, and the dynasty QB rankings are in the midst of a shakeup.

PlayerProfiler’s Dynasty Rankings are here to give you the edge you need in dynasty superflex startup drafts. The QB position is more important than ever, and being able to tier the position and project which QBs will see meteoric rises during coming seasons is paramount.

A Tier of Three

As stated, Allen, Mahomes and Hurts formed the top tier last offseason. After the 2024 fantasy season, a new trio resides at the top of PlayerProfiler’s Dynasty QB Rankings. Josh Allen is still the top superflex QB. Lamar Jackson is QB2, coming off a season in which he should have been named MVP. And Jayden Daniels is QB3, fresh off one of the best rookie QB seasons ever.

Jackson and Daniels have ascended into the top three because of their sky-high ceilings passing and rushing. Mahomes and Hurts score fantasy points in both phases of the game, but Jackson and Daniels will far outdo Mahomes on the ground and Hurts through the air. Like Allen, that gives Jackson and Daniels a high floor/high ceiling combo to score 20-plus fantasy points per game year in and year out.

The Top Tier Next Year

If you would have known this time last year that Jayden Daniels was going to rise to the top tier of the dynasty QB rankings in his first season, you would have been more aggressive in trying to acquire him in startups. You also would have traded pocket-passing quarterbacks like C.J. Stroud and Jordan Love for him. Now Daniels’ value is soaring and he is one of the hottest dynasty assets out there. Below we highlight the QBs most likely to crack the top tier of the dynasty QB rankings this time next year.

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow has two top-four PPG finishes in the last three seasons (2022 and 2024). He is a zero in the run game, but connected with Ja’Marr Chase and – hopefully – Tee Higgins, Burrow has the ceiling of prime Peyton Manning. He can throw for 50-plus TDs and 5,000-plus yards through the air. Burrow topped out in the 2024 season at 43 touchdowns and 4,918 pass yards. All that means is he has additional potential to realize.

Caleb Williams

Last year at this time, Caleb Williams was being talked about as the next great dynasty QB. After one year of play in Chicago, he has fallen out of the top 10 of the Dynasty QB Rankings to QB11. 2024 was an inconsistent year for Williams in a Shane Waldron/Thomas Brown offense. The rookie took a league-high 68 sacks, somehow more sacks per game than Justin Fields the season before.

Williams showed flashes as a passer, however, recording four 300-yard games and six multiple-touchdown games. That is to say nothing of his rushing ability: 483 (No. 7) rush yards in 2024 on 4.8 carries per game. His athleticism and arm talent give him top-tier potential. With one of the hottest offensive minds in the business in Ben Johnson now in town, the ceiling for Williams is in worth acquiring.

2024 Rookies in the Dynasty QB Rankings

PlayerProfiler’s Dynasty QB Rankings have four QBs from the 2024 class in the top 15. Daniels is QB3, Bo Nix QB9, Williams QB11 and Michael Penix Jr. QB15.

Bo Nix

Believe it or not, Bo Nix finished as the PPG QB8 in his rookie season. He had nine QB1 (top-12) finishes and was No. 8 among QBs in rush yards with 473. He was also No. 2 with a 5.9 Accuracy Rating and a decent Adjusted Yards Per Attempt of 6.5 (No. 20) as a passer.

Michael Penix Jr.

Penix Jr. looks like the starter for the Atlanta Falcons for 2025. Along with Daniels and Nix, he came into the league with five-plus years of experience under center in college. In his three starts as a rookie, he looked like an NFL-ready passer. Penix threw 27, 35 and 38 pass attempts with an average of 7.4 yards per attempt on the season, totaling 200-plus yards each game with three total passing TDs and three picks.

Biggest Fallers of 2024 in Dynasty QB Rankings

Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson was a highly sought-after asset in dynasty superflex last offseason based solely on his rushing production and athleticism. He scored four rushing touchdowns in four games in his rookie season (2023), good for two top-five finishes that season. Richardson had an up-and-down 2024. He started off with a QB4 finish in Week 1, throwing for 212 yards and two TDs and adding another 56 yards and a TD on the ground. After that, he did not crack the top 20 in QB scoring until Week 11, missing four full games in that stretch and most of another (Week 4).

The third-year QB out of Florida is a dynasty wild card. He has the physical traits to score massive amounts of fantasy points. It remains to be seen, though, if he can put it all together as a passer and captain an NFL offense. Richardson is at QB16 in the PlayerProfiler Dynasty Rankings until he shows the ability to be a consistent fantasy contributor.

Kirk Cousins

The impact of Kirk Cousins coming off an Achilles injury at age 36 was real. He averaged 13.7 fantasy PPG, the lowest output of his career as a starter by almost three full fantasy points. The veteran was benched toward the end of the 2024 season after throwing one touchdown pass and nine interceptions over his last five starts.

With NFL teams’ thirst for experienced signal callers, Cousins could wind up in a starting position for another team. Atlanta would be footing the bill. They still owe Cousins $90 Million in dead money if they cut him, per The Sporting News. Cousins is down at QB36 in the PlayerProfiler Dynasty Rankings, lower than all the confirmed starters and even Justin Fields and Jameis Winston, who do not have confirmed starting jobs for 2025.

2025 Rookies

Cameron Ward and Shedeur Sanders, likely to be the QB1 and QB2 in the 2025 NFL Draft class, are at QB22 and QB23 in PlayerProfiler Dynasty Rankings. They are head and shoulders above the rest of the QB prospects in the class, both likely to go in the first round to QB-needy teams. Jaxson Dart is down at QB29 in the dynasty ranks, but after a strong showing at The Senior Bowl, his draft stock is on the rise. He is the favorite to be the third quarterback taken in the Draft.

Jalen Milroe is at QB34 in the dynasty QB rankings, with mixed reviews from The Senior Bowl. Other quarterbacks in the 2025 class like Will Howard, Quinn Ewers and Dillon Gabriel are further down the ranks but could move up depending on the buzz surrounding them going into the Draft.

As always, the NFL will tell us how they value this set of QBs come Draft Day, and the dynasty market will shift accordingly. Stay tuned to our dynasty rankings and draft evaluations if you have a pre-NFL Draft rookie draft or startup approaching. We have you covered.
