Fantasy Football Week 5 Sleepers: 17 Must-Stash Players & Streamers, Bye Week Replacements | 2024

by Theo Gremminger · Featured

The bye weeks are here, and Fantasy Football gets a little more difficult with fewer players available to choose from. However, there will still be lesser-rostered fantasy sleepers who can provide impactful performances. Whether you’re looking for a player to beat your league to on the waiver wire or someone to insert into your lineup this week, I’ve got you covered.

PlayerProfiler is home to the award winning redraft rankings and tools. Our Player Rankings are second to none, and the World Famous Draft Kit contains detailed player write ups and cheat sheets to help You dominate fantasy drafts! Check it out.

Quarterbacks

Joe Flacco – Indianapolis (4%)

Anthony Richardson was knocked out of last week’s game, and Flacco filled in admirably. He helped lead Indianapolis to a 27-24 win over the previously undefeated Steelers, passing for 168 yards and two TDs. He also unlocked Michael Pittman and Josh Downs, leading them to season-high production.

Deshaun Watson – Cleveland (23%)

I know, he’s been terrible, and the Browns are a trainwreck, but bear with me.

Before Kyler Murray‘s QB25 finish in Week 4, here were the Washington Commanders’ last defensive finishes against opposing QBs: QB7, QB6, QB2. Watson could have a better-than-anticipated performance, and so could Amari Cooper.

Andy Dalton – Carolina (15%)

Dalton is on a heater with 539 passing yards and five TDs over the last two games. Diontae Johnson is firmly entrenched as a WR1, Chuba Hubbard is playing well at RB, and Xavier Legette is emerging. Even against Chicago’s tough defense, Dalton has the weapons to put up a decent performance. Dalton is one of the top fantasy sleepers at QB this week.

Running Backs

Justice Hill – Baltimore (31%)

I’m cheating a bit as Hill is slightly above the threshold for being rostered, but it’s still worth checking if he’s available in your league. Hill is the RB27 on the season, ranks No. 7 among RBs in receptions, and is No. 3 in receiving yardage. The Bengals allowed seven catches to RBs last week. Despite Derrick Henry‘s dominance, Hill remains a useful player to roster and one of the top fantasy sleepers amongst running backs.

Tank Bigsby – Jacksonville (21%)

Bigsby has Jacksonville’s two highest rushing outputs this season, rushing for 73 yards in Week 1 and 90 in Week 4. His strong play may earn him an increased role against Indianapolis this week. With four teams on bye, Bigsby is a flex-worthy option.

Emanuel Wilson – Green Bay (12%)

Wilson had a quiet Week 4 but shined in Week 3 with 85 combined yards and a TD.

He has a 31.8-percent snap share this season—just enough to annoy Josh Jacobs managers moving forward. Green Bay faces the Rams this week, who allowed seven catches to D’Andre Swift and have given up the most rushing yards to RBs this season. Wilson is one of the more sneaky fantasy sleepers out there.

Tyrone Tracy – New York Giants (5%)

Tracy is the next man up if Devin Singletary misses time. He has intriguing size, skill, and receiving upside, having transitioned from WR at Iowa to RB at Purdue. He could offer value in deeper leagues if Singletary sits out.

Jaylen Wright- Miami Dolphins (8%)

De’Von Achane looks banged up. Wright could see his opportunity this season sooner than later.

Tight Ends

Tyler Conklin – New York Jets (29%)

Conklin has been inconsistent this season, but he makes for an intriguing streamer this week. Minnesota has allowed the second-most passing yards in the league, and Tucker Kraft just finished as TE1 against them in Week 4. Conklin also has a revenge-game narrative against his former team.

Colby Parkinson – LA Rams (20%)

Parkinson is coming off a season-high seven targets in Week 4. We’ve been waiting for a breakout, and this could be it. The Packers will pressure Matt Stafford, forcing the Rams to keep up.

Mike Gesicki – Cincinnati (29%) and Erick All – Cincinnati (2%)

The Bengals face the Ravens in a crucial AFC North matchup. Baltimore allows the No. 3-most passing yards to TEs. Gesicki is TE13, but rookie All has caught four passes in three straight games and could see increased usage.

Wide Receivers

Xavier Legette – Carolina (30%)

Legette is one of my favorite fantasy sleepers this week. After his breakout last week, he was targeted 10 times, catching six, including a TD. The first-round pick has alpha-level size and athleticism. With Adam Thielen on IR, Legette is in a great spot to shine.

Mike Williams – New York Jets (21%)

Big Mike is coming on for the Jets, now facing a Minnesota defense that’s a pass funnel. Williams had season-highs of 4 catches and 67 receiving yards in Week 4. The Jets could use his boost against the Vikings.

Tre Tucker – Las Vegas Raiders (17%)

Tucker has been a fantasy standout over the last two weeks, with 15 targets and 12 catches.

With an 80+ percent snap share and back-to-back TDs, Antonio Pierce clearly trusts Tucker. His availability is shocking.

Jordan Whittington – LA Rams (9%)

Another late-round Rams gem. After shining in the preseason, Whittington saw an explosion in usage in Week 4, playing 98-percent of snaps with a 27-percent target share. He finished with career highs in catches (6) and yards (62). Don’t expect top-10 production, but a flex-worthy performance is a strong bet.

Darius Slayton – New York Giants (2%)

A deep sleeper, Slayton should see his highest usage of the season with Malik Nabers out and Devin Singletary possibly sidelined. The Giants face a tough Seahawks team, but the game flow could favor a pass-heavy approach.
