Fantasy Football Week 4 Sleepers: Hidden Gems to Stash or Stream Now for a Winning Edge

by Theo Gremminger · Featured

Hey, did you read this fantasy sleepers column last week? If not, welcome. If you did, I hope you enjoyed it.

Jauan Jennings was my No. 1 recommendation at WR. It will be literally impossible for me to recommend a better streamer for the rest of the season. Jennings finished with 11 catches for 175 yards and three TDs. Only one 49er has had more TD catches in a game than Jennings, and his name is Jerry Rice.

Sam Darnold was my No. 1 recommendation at QB. He passed for four TDs. Darnold is the only QB with multiple TD passes in every game.

Can we identify some under the radar players who can deliver performances like Jennings and Darnold did? Probably not, but we will certainly try.

Some of you can sit back and relax and use this article as a waiver wire of the future. Other managers may be in desperate need of a player to use right now.

I will attempt to provide both.

Note: every player listed is available in at least 70 percent of leagues.

Quarterbacks

Justin Fields | Pittsburgh (27%)

Fields played well in Week 3, finishing with 245 passing yards and a TD. He added another on the ground. He now faces off against a Colts defense that has been generous against the run all season long. I have stressed picking up Fields for weeks now. After this Sunday he will probably be rostered in too many leagues to make our fantasy sleepers list.

Andy Dalton | Carolina (3%)

Dalton is a lock starter in Superflex formats this week against a Bengals defense on short week after getting shredded by the Washington Commanders. Dalton is no Jayden Daniels– far from it. But Dalton did look extremely comfortable in Carolina’s Week 3 win over Las Vegas.

He passed for 300 yards and three TDs – the first QB this season to accomplish that combo. Could we be looking at a 2024 version of 2023 Joe Flacco

Drake Maye | New England (3%)

Maye’s time is coming in New England. He has the rushing upside to make a fantasy impact right away. It is hard to envision the Patriots not starting him in the near future. The very near future.

Tyler Huntley | Miami (2%)

The longtime Raven had some strong starts in Baltimore when backing up Lamar Jackson. Superflex speculators should scoop him up now. He is much more talented than Skylar Thompson or Tim Boyle in Miami.

Running Backs

Roschon Johnson | Chicago (23%)

Johnson had some promising usage and production in Week 3. He finished with 62 combined yards and four catches. There are reports he will see a ramp up in usage. It’s hard to trust a Bears RB right now, but Johnson has size and pass catching ability to be one of our fantasy sleepers.

Cordarrelle Patterson | Pittsurgh (3%)

This is a fun one. Patterson finished with Week 3 with 48 yards on seven touches. Jaylen Warren is out, and Patterson should see some increased involvement in the offense. Patterson followed Arthur Smith to Pittsburgh and played for him for several years.

Emanuel Wilson | Green Bay Packers (13%)

Wilson had his best game as a Pro in Week 3’s win over. Wilson finished with 85 yards on 14 touches including a TD.

He is being utilized like we wanted MarShawn Lloyd to be – but the market has not adjusted. Wilson is also a Josh Jacobs injury away from being a weekly top 15 play at the position.

Samaje Perine | Kansas City (26%)

Perine was probably dropped in a number of leagues with Carson Steele outpacing him in Week 3. Kareem Hunt becoming active has further muddied the RB clarity. I will bet on Perine having a usable week if you are in a jam. The Chargers have been generous to opposing running backs as pass catchers all season. Alexander Mattison had four catches, Pittsburgh RBs had nine catches, and Miles Sanders and Chuba Hubbard combined for seven catches. I will scoop Perine for cheap and see what happens.

Ray Davis | Buffalo (11%)

Isaac Guerendo | San Francisco (3%)

Justice Hill | Baltimore (13%)

A quick reminder to roster direct handcuff RBs. If any of these backs had an injury in front of them, they would be 50%+ adds next week.

Tyler Badie | Denver (2%)

Badie led Denver with 70 rushing yards. No one knows how this backfield will shake out, but Badie is free and showed some juice.

Kendre Miller | New Orleans (6%)

This player is one of the more fun fantasy sleepers. Miller was in the doghouse all summer long but is coming off of the IR shortly. How deep is he buried? The simple argument for you ageists out there: the Saints RBs are old. If they breakdown, Miller is young. This is a lottery ticket contingent upside bet against the 29-year-old Alvin Kamara holding up.

Wide Receivers

Michael Wilson | Arizona (15%)

Wilson is my favorite of the fantasy sleepers at WR this week. Washington has been generous not just to opposing WR1s, but also WR2s. In Week 3, Wilson finished with eight catches for 64 yards on nine targets.

I had him as a top 10 Waiver Wire addition this week as well. With a second strong performance in a row, Wilson would be a popular addition ever for shallower formats this upcoming week. Add him now and save some FAAB.

Andrei Iosivas | Cincinnati (20%)

Iosivas tied Ja’Marr Chase with seven targets. He caught five of them for 52 yards and a TD. In Week 2, he caught two TD passes with minimal production. Dating back to last season, Iosivas has five TD catches in his last four games. The Bengals coaching staff loves him and he needs answers. He is a high ceiling low floor dart throw.

Xavier Legette | Carolina (13%)

Look for Legette to take a more active role in the Panthers offense with Adam Thielen set to miss some time with a hamstring injury. The Panthers traded up to select Legette in the first round of the NFL Draft. He could be a pleasant surprise this week with Andy Dalton playing at a shockingly high level.

Tre Tucker | Las Vegas (2%)

Davante Adams is set to miss. Tucker had his best game as a pro in Week 3’s loss to Carolina. He finished with seven catches for 96 yards and a TD. A third round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Tucker was continually talked up this offseason by Head Coach Antonio Pierce. He is trending up and has a chance to a player with a lot of buzz if he can post another solid output this week.

Jalen Nailor | Minnesota (13%)

Jordan Addison looks set to return from injury this week, so it will be interesting to see Nailor’s involvement. Nailor has played very well this season, with a TD catch in every single game. He is on a fantasy heater, and Sam Darnold is targeting him on high value looks.

Tutu Atwell | LA Rams (7%)

Atwell led the way in Week 3’s win over San Francisco, pacing the Rams with 92 receiving yards including a 50 yarder late in the fourth quarter that led to a game winning field goal. The Rams will have their work cut out against an absolute unit of a defense in Chicago, but Atwell deserves to be monitored to see if he can make it two in a row.

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz | Washington (26%)

A Zach Ertz revenge game narrative? Ertz caught five passes in Week 3’s win over Cincinnati. Jayden Daniels is leading the league in completion percentage. Ertz gives him a floor play option. This game could be a high scoring one. He is tied for No. 7 in TE receptions this season.

Elijah Higgins | Arizona (1%)

Higgins makes for an interesting streamer this week with Trey McBride concussed.

A converted WR, Higgins runs a 4.54 40. He caught a TD in Week 1.

Erick All | Cincinatti (1%)

Long term stashers should consider All. All is one of those fantasy sleepers that could pay off in a big way. His involvement has ramped up, and he is viewed as Cincy’s TE of the future. He could make an impact over the second half of the season. If the 0-3 Bengals do not get it together quickly, this offense could have some significant shakeups.
