High Value Touch DFS Index – Week 14

by Mark Kieffer · Value Plays

The High Value Touch DFS Index is here to help you find the best plays for the dollar in DFS. This is done by looking at leaders in Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line Per Game and Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line Per Game and comparing their prices on DraftKings and FanDuel to create a rating. We weigh targets higher than carries and take it a step further to weigh it higher on DraftKings (PPR scoring) vs. FanDuel (Half PPR scoring). We look at these touches close to the end zone because touchdowns lead to fantasy points, and fantasy points lead to cashing our lineups in DFS!

There are a lot of notable names absent from the slate: Jonathan Taylor, Myles Gaskin, Dalvin Cook, Aaron Jones, Darrell Henderson, Najee Harris, and James Conner along with many other running backs are not on this Week 14 slate. Let’s see who is on the index this week!

Top 5 Values:

5) Antonio Gibson: $6,000 on DraftKings, $7,400 on FanDuel

High Value Touch Index – DraftKings: 23.54 (No. 5)
High Value Touch Index – FanDuel: 17.74 (No. 4)

Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line: 1.75 per game
Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line: 0.25 per game
Red Zone Snap Share: 58.93 percent

Antonio Gibson Game Log

Antonio Gibson makes an appearance in the index after a relatively quiet season. After scoring 48.7 fantasy points the last two weeks and his price staying relatively flat, he finds himself at No. 5. His 1.75 carries inside the 10-yard line is No. 7 among all running backs and No. 2 among running backs on this slate. Coming off of playing against Seattle (No. 24 rush defense) and Las Vegas (No. 26 rush defense), Washington now plays Dallas (No. 14 rush defense).

Gibson had seven targets two weeks ago and then six targets last week. If he will be targeted that much, he is cash game viable as the targets provide a floor for Gibson while his work inside the 10-yard line gives him upside. If playing three to five lineups, he is someone to have in your player pool for GPPs as well.

4) Darrel Williams: $5,300 on DraftKings, $6,500 on FanDuel

High Value Touch Index – DraftKings: 23.68 (No. 4)
High Value Touch Index – FanDuel: 18.13 (No. 5)

Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line: 1.25 per game
Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line: 0.33 per game
Red Zone Snap Share: 53.08 percent

Darrel Williams is a boom-or-bust player. In Week 10, he scored 29.4 fantasy points but in Week 11 he scored 3.6 fantasy points. His 1.25 carries inside the 10-yard line are No. 23 among all running backs. His 0.33 targets inside the 10-yard line per game are No. 9 among all running backs and No. 5 among running backs on the slate.

That said, with the return of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and at his current price, it is difficult to envision Williams meeting value in cash games, as his Snap Share last week was 47.2-percent. It is also difficult to see him hit his ceiling in a shared backfield, even if playing a bad rush defense in Las Vegas.

For this week, remove him from your player pool and look for better values.

3) Leonard Fournette: $7,400 on DraftKings, $7,600 on FanDuel

High Value Touch Index – DraftKings: 24.53 (No. 3)
High Value Touch Index – FanDuel: 21.37 (No. 2)

Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line: 1.92 per game
Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line: 0.42 per game
Red Zone Snap Share: 66.07 percent

Leonard Fournette Game Log

Leonard Fournette is back at No. 3 for the second straight week. He scored 22.2 fantasy points last week and his pricing this week stayed virtually the same as last week. He has been targeted eight times each of the last two weeks and overall is No. 3 among all running backs with 5.8 targets per game. Fournette’s 0.42 targets inside the 10-yard line per game is No. 5 among all running backs and No. 3 among running backs on the slate. His 1.92 carries inside the 10-yard line is No. 1 among running backs on the slate. Fournette is priced appropriately in my opinion.

If looking to spend up this week, he has to be one of your top options. I like Fournette better for tournaments than cash games, but he could end up being pretty chalky coming off of two big weeks. Anytime someone is leading the league in work inside the 10-yard line, they can have a ceiling game. Buffalo has the No. 12 rush defense, but Fournette did score 44.1 fantasy points against the No. 15 rush defense in Indianapolis.

2) Adrian Peterson: $4,700 on DraftKings, $5,600 on FanDuel

High Value Touch Index – DraftKings: 26.97 (No. 2)
High Value Touch Index – FanDuel: 20.84 (No. 3)

Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line: 1.5 per game
Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line: 0.25 per game
Red Zone Snap Share: 38.78 percent

Adrian Peterson‘s 1.5 carries inside the 10-yard line is No. 6 among running backs on the slate. Peterson had 7.6 fantasy points with a touchdown scored. This is a player with a floor of nearly zero. Having played just four games, he benefits from small sample sizes. Cross off from your player pool and go a different direction.

1) Zack Moss: $4,500 on DraftKings, $5,400 on FanDuel

High Value Touch Index – DraftKings: 29.93 (No. 1)
High Value Touch Index – FanDuel: 22.72 (No. 1)

Carries Inside The 10-Yard Line: 1.5 per game
Targets Inside The 10-Yard Line: 0.3 per game
Red Zone Snap Share: 67.69 percent

Zack Moss Player Profile

Zack Moss always performs well because on a per-game basis, his carries inside the 10-yard line are tied for No. 8 among running backs on the slate. His Snap Share has been going down as the season goes on he was a healthy scratch in Week 12. Similar to Peterson, remove from your player pool and go a different direction with your running backs.

Just Missed The Cut

DraftKings: Josh Jacobs (20.79), Giovani Bernard (19.71), Alvin Kamara (19.48)
FanDuel: Josh Jacobs (16.46), Ezekiel Elliott (16.26),  Alvin Kamara (15.43)

Final Thoughts

Although they come in at No. 5 and No. 3 on the index, Antonio Gibson and Leonard Fournette are both cash game and tournament viable, although both are preferred in tournaments. Darrel Williams, Adrian Peterson, and Zack Moss are not involved enough in the offense outside of the 10-yard line to be trusted in your lineups this week.

We will come back for Week 15 with an update to the index! Best of luck in Week 14!
