Following is an updated list of NFL Draft early declares as dynasty gamers prepare for rookie drafts.
The NFL season is heating up with the playoffs in full swing. The college football season is drawing to a close as the College Football Playoff (CFP) between Ohio State and Notre Dame will bring the season to a close on January 20. That means most NFL Draft prospects are setting their sights on this spring’s Draft, which will occur in Green Bay April 24-26.
Early Declare Timelines
The hard deadline for early declares (underclassmen declaring before their senior season) to declare eligibility for the 2025 NFL Draft is January 15, 2025. The deadline was earlier (January 6) if that player’s team was not participating in the CFP and their season was over by that date. For those players taking part in the National Championship, the deadline to declare is later – January 24, 2025.
Another thing to note is February 7th as the deadline to opt out of the NFL Draft for those players who previously declared eligible but are choosing to stay in college. If a player is considering entering the transfer portal rather than entering the NFL Draft, they have until that date to pull their name out of consideration for NFL teams.
NFL teams will receive a final list of early declares on January 25, the day after they are submitted to the NFL. Teams will then be able to make draft plans with a full list of eligible players. Athletic testing takes place at the NFL Combine February 7-March 2, followed by many teams’ Pro Days and visits with NFL teams before the late-April Draft.
NFL Draft Early Declares
Early declares are often some of the most interesting prospects entering the NFL Draft each season. They make the decision to enter the NFL Draft because their Draft value is at a peak based on their most recent season of collegiate production and their projected draft stock.
An updated list of fantasy-relevant early declares for the 2025 NFL Draft is below. The list will be updated following the final deadline to declare (January 25) and the opt-out deadline (Febuary 7). There are some exciting players available in the 2025 NFL Draft, including a dynamite class of running backs. Keep in mind the following list does not include all the players eligible for the Draft. These are only the early declares.
