Welcome back to Running Back Streamers! We are approaching the “Witching Hour” of the fantasy football regular season. Believe it or not, we still have some running backs who are trending upwards as we approach the fantasy playoffs! So buckle up and let’s get into the nitty gritty!

Cam Akers | Minnesota Vikings

It is obvious that Kevin O’Connell just loves Cam Akers. He’s traded for him two seasons in a row and Akers has been getting some decent run as of late. The fifth-year back has 13- and 10-carry games in the last two weeks playing behind Aaron Jones and is now firmly ahead of Ty Chandler

Granted, Akers has only cracked over 3.0 yards per carry once in the last three weeks where he has gotten carries, but at least he’s getting the work. I wouldn’t describe Jones as the poster boy of health, leaving room for some late season upside with Akers if anything happens to Jones. The best part about Akers? He is literally FREE, as he’s owned in just 16.5-percent of leagues.

Jerome Ford | Cleveland Browns

After missing a couple games due to injury, Jerome Ford is still very much a part of the Cleveland backfield, even with Nick Chubb back in the lineup. Ford played 56-percent of snaps last week against New Orleans. He ahd nine total touches, four catches, but just 39 yards.

Ford is without a doubt the pass-catching back for the Browns. Chubb has just one catch for one yard the last two weeks. Ford has 7 in that same time period. I view Ford as similar to Tyjae Spears or Justice Hill. You probably don’t want to start them week-to-week, but they could give you a respectable stat line in a spot-start situation. Ford should at least be rostered in all leagues.

Ameer Abdullah | Las Vegas Raiders

Zamir White and Alexander Mattison both left last week’s game with injuries. There aren’t many running backs left in Vegas ahead of their matchup against the Broncos in Week 12. Abdullah scored a touchdown last week and has always been involved in the passing game.

I think we are all still waiting for Dylan Laube to eventually pop up, but he hasn’t taken a snap on offense since Week 6. He fumbled the ball on a kickoff return in that game. Abdullah seems to have the trust of the coaching staff, and I don’t think Antonio Pierce wants to lose his job just yet. Therefore, I’d expect to see a lot of Abdullah if White and Mattison can’t go. If you love just diving through the garbage hoping for a 10-point PPR performance, Abdullah is your guy!
