UPCOMING BYE WEEKS

Week 6

Kansas City

LA Rams

Minnesota

Miami

Week 7

Chicago

Dallas

Week 9

Pittsburgh

San Francisco

Shallow League Adds (Players Rostered in 30-40% of Leagues)

Josh Downs – WR – Indianapolis (40%)

If Downs is still available in your league, it may be time to raise the level of competition. It’s also time to put in a sizable FAAB bid. Downs is a WR2 with Joe Flacco and a WR3 with Anthony Richardson. He is a baller. (WOULD BE A TOP 10 OVERALL ADDITION IF ELIGIBLE)

Xavier Legette – WR – Carolina (31%)

Legette was terrific in Week 4 but was knocked out of Week 5’s loss with a shoulder injury. The early news is that the injury (AC joint) will not be serious, but pay attention to Carolina’s practice reports. If someone drops him in your league, scoop him up.

Allen Lazard – WR – NY Jets (36%)

Lazard continues to be utilized at a high rate. He led the Jets WRs in snaps and had nine targets.

Antonio Gibson – RB – Washington (38%)

The Gibson takeover did not happen, and Rhamondre Stevenson played one of his best games of the season. Gibson remains the clear handcuff RB.

Cade Otton – TE – Tampa Bay (37%)

Otton has caught 16 passes over the last three weeks. Baker Mayfield is playing terrific football. Tight end premium managers should target Otton if available.

Standard Roster Size and Deep League Adds (Players Rostered in 30% of Leagues or Fewer)

Note: Every player listed is available in at least 70% of leagues. Each player’s roster percentage is shown in parentheses. For example, if a player has (25%) next to their name, they are available in 75% of leagues.

Quarterbacks

Joe Flacco – Indianapolis (8%)

Could 2024 Joe Flacco be this year’s version of 2023 Joe Flacco? Flacco was magnificent in Indianapolis’ loss to Jacksonville, passing for 359 yards and 3 TDs. In about a game and a half of action, Flacco has five TD passes. He can be streamed this week if the Colts don’t bring back Anthony Richardson.

Daniel Jones – New York Giants (9%)

Jones is a locked-in Superflex starter. He recorded 295 combined yards and two TD passes in New York’s huge win over Seattle on the road. Is it illegal to say Jones is trending up? He’s QB14 on the season. The Giants’ OL went from one of the worst in allowing QB sacks to improving significantly, now allowing the No. 17 most this season—far from elite, but no longer a trainwreck.

Drake Maye – New England (3%)

Maye could take over this week or in the upcoming weeks. He has size, a big arm, and scrambling ability. If you want a speculative add, he’s it for the waiver wire Week 6.

Running Backs

Tank Bigsby – Jacksonville (23%)

We had Bigsby as a top five addition last week, while many others did not. He was our number one RB addition due to his play and efficiency as a runner, combined with Jacksonville’s struggles. Bigsby had his best game as a pro, finishing with his first 100-yard rushing performance and two touchdowns.

He even caught a long pass. While Travis Etienne is not going anywhere, Bigsby could take on a 60/40 backfield split. Bigsby has size, athleticism, and a ton of juice. If you grabbed him last week, great job! If he’s still available, put in a significant FAAB bid on the Waiver Wire Week 6.

Tyrone Tracy – New York Giants (23%)

With Devon Singletary sidelined, Tracy stepped up in a significant way. Tracy, a converted wide receiver with size and athleticism, was terrific in the Giants’ win over Seattle, rushing for 129 yards. Singletary could return, but Tracy is worth a speculative add on the Waiver Wire Week 6, especially in deeper leagues.

Jaylen Wright – Miami (8%)

With De’Von Achane suffering a concussion, Wright stepped up with his best game as a pro, even with Raheem Mostert playing. Wright finished with 13 carries for 86 yards. Despite Miami’s bye week, Wright should be a priority on the waiver wire. Mostert is banged up, and Wright could be useful in the second half of the season.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire – Kansas City (11%)

CEH is due to return, and with the offensive attrition in Kansas City, he could see a larger role than many expect. As the most experienced player in this offense, besides Travis Kelce, he’s worth a speculative add on the Waiver Wire Week 6.

Ty Chandler – Minnesota (28%)

Aaron Jones was knocked out of Minnesota’s win with a hip injury. While the bye week gives Jones time to recover, Chandler is valuable if Jones misses time. Minnesota’s offense is strong, and Chandler could be a consolation prize in leagues where Bigsby and Tracy are unavailable.

Blake Corum – LA Rams (17%)

Kyren Williams has been sensational, but Corum would be the next man up if Williams were to miss time.

He’s a great speculative lottery ticket add based on the weekly volume Williams is absorbing.

Trey Benson – Arizona (24%)

Benson didn’t receive a single touch in Week 5’s win over San Francisco. James Conner dominated usage, and Emari Demercado also played. However, if (or when) Conner misses time, Benson would likely see a sizable role in this offense, even if Demercado steals some targets. Benson rushed for 50 yards in Week 4.

Emmanuel Wilson – Green Bay (13%)

Wilson is currently the handcuff to Josh Jacobs until Marshawn Lloyd returns.

Ray Davis – Buffalo (8%)

Isaac Guerendo – San Francisco (2%)

Marshawn Lloyd – Green Bay (5%)

Kendre Miller – New Orleans (7%)

It’s Week 6, and attrition happens year after year. If you have room, consider adding one of these players on the Waiver Wire Week 6. They are listed in the order of value.

Tyler Allgeier – Atlanta (26%)

Allgeier is behind Bijan Robinson, but he will still occasionally have games like he did in Week 4 (80 combined yards). If Robinson were to miss time, Allgeier would be a high-end RB2, if not a low-end RB1. This offense just scored 36 points and is trending up.

Roschon Johnson – Chicago (20%)

Don’t pay for the TDs—Johnson is the clear No. 2 back behind D’Andre Swift. Johnson plays about one-third of the snaps but is becoming a consistent touch backup in an offense that’s suddenly improving. He has three TDs in two weeks. He should be rostered and is back in the top 10 this week.

Tyler Goodson- Indianapolis (1%)

Goodson had similar production to Trey Sermon, but Sermon fell in the end zone. This backfield situation behind Jonathan Taylor is more fluid than the box score indicates.

Dare Ogunbowale – Houston (1%)

Ogunbowale had his highest usage as a Texan, doubling up Cam Akers in snaps and catching six passes for 57 yards. He also carried the ball 15 times for minimal production. The receiving work was interesting, and he has skill as a pass catcher. Ogunbowale is a deep-league option only.

Jeremy McNichols – Washington

The Commanders’ offense is rolling, and McNichols saw action in the first half, scoring a late third-quarter TD. Brian Robinson didn’t play in the second half as the Commanders steamrolled the Browns.

McNichols is the No. 3 on the roster but has played well in the last two games. He needs an injury ahead of him to be viable but seems comfortable in the offense.

Myles Gaskin – Minnesota (0%)

Gaskin would slot into the No. 2 RB spot in Minnesota if Aaron Jones misses time.

Ameer Abdullah – Las Vegas (0%)

Those of us hoping for some Dylan Laube usage were left disappointed. Abdullah is the No. 2 back in Vegas with Zamir White banged up. Abdullah had eight touches for 51 yards, including a long TD run. Deep leagues only.

Traveon Williams – Cincinnati (0%)

Zack Moss injured his ankle. If it turns out to be serious, Williams would be the new backup to Chase Brown.

Tight Ends

Tyler Conklin – New York Jets (30%)

Conklin has been targeted at least six times in three straight games. He had a solid output — six catches for 55 yards — as the Jets were in comeback mode. His usage increase has coincided with Breece Hall‘s recent struggles. He should be rostered in TE premium formats, like the FFPC.

Colby Parkinson – LA Rams (28%)

Parkinson could be happening! I listed Parkinson as a top 10 add after Week 1, but he failed to deliver. However, the last two weeks have been incredibly promising. He was targeted seven times in Week 4 and had a career game in Week 5.

Parkinson finished with seven catches for 52 yards on 13 targets. 20 targets over the past two weeks? Parkinson is trending up and is a high-end TE2 after LA returns from their bye.

Zach Ertz – Washington Commanders (30%)

Ertz didn’t do much, but he was targeted eight times. Keep an eye on his usage moving forward.

Ben Sinnott – Washington Commanders (30%)

Sinnott is another player to monitor. Ertz’s role has been minimal, and if Sinnott gets more opportunities, he could become fantasy relevant.

Mike Gesicki – Cincinnati (26%)

Gesicki’s hold over the Bengals TE position appears to be coming to an end with Erick All seeing more and more work.

Erick All – Cincinnati (3%)

All didn’t do much against Baltimore, but he led Bengals TEs in snaps. The rookie makes for a strong stash in case his role elevates as the season progresses.

Hunter Henry – New England (30%)

Henry could see a boost if Drake Maye takes over at QB.

Wide Receivers

Jalen Tolbert – Dallas (7%)

Tolbert has scored 13 or more PPR points in three of his last four games. He had his best game as a pro in Dallas’ Monday night victory against Pittsburgh. Tolbert had 10 catches, including a touchdown, and finished with 87 receiving yards.

The former third-round NFL Draft pick is finally having a breakout season. Dallas’ offense is becoming easy to predict with CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, and Jalen Tolbert leading the way.

Michael Wilson – Arizona (13%)

Wilson has been targeted at least six times in three straight games. He had his season-high in receiving yards this week with 78 in Arizona’s big win over San Francisco. Wilson has more receptions this year than Marvin Harrison Jr. Scoop him up on the Waiver Wire Week 6.

Jordan Whittington – LA Rams (15%)

We’ve recommended Whittington for weeks, and he’s finally showing why. He caught seven passes for 89 yards this weekend, one week after a six-catch, 62-yard performance in Week 4. Whittington is ascending. Even with Cooper Kupp returning, Whittington won’t disappear. They like him, and he’s flat-out good.

Alec Pierce – Indianapolis Colts (20%)

Pierce is the ultimate boom-or-bust option. He has 368 receiving yards and three TDs on only 13 receptions. When that long TD hits, it feels amazing. If it doesn’t, you’re stuck holding the bag.

Tre Tucker – Las Vegas (18%)

Tucker had a disappointing Week 5 with minimal gains on four touches. He played well in Weeks 3 and 4 and is not going away. Davante Adams may be traded, and Tucker’s current role should remain the same.

Ja’Lynn Polk – New England (8%)

Polk had a TD overturned in Week 5’s loss to Miami. Usage-wise, he’s right there, leading all Patriots WRs in snaps and routes run. A QB change could unlock the potential of the second-round pick.

Rashod Bateman – Baltimore (9%)

Bateman had his best game of the season, catching four passes and a TD on eight targets. This could be a sign of things to come. Lamar Jackson is playing at an absurdly high level (9 TDs to 1 INT, while leading the NFL in QB rushing yards), and the Ravens’ offense is scoring at will. A small FAAB bid on Bateman might pay off.

Demario Douglas – New England (6%)

Douglas was targeted nine times and caught six of them. He has nine targets in two of his last three games and 16 catches over that span.

Tutu Atwell – LA Rams (19%)

Atwell continues his recent strong play. He played 80% of the snaps and tied Whittington with 10 targets. Over the last three games, Atwell has at least four catches and at least 58 yards, along with a reception of 24 yards or more. His role may change when Cooper Kupp returns, but that remains to be seen after the bye week.

Juju Smith-Schuster- Kansas City (6%)

Smith-Schuster looks like the new No. 1 WR target in Kansas City. Turn back the clocks and queue up the Tik Tok dances. Smith Schuster was targeted early and often and went over 100 yards for the first time since October 2022.

The Chiefs late August signing of Smith- Schuster was met with little fanfare but has already proven to be a sharp move. KC added an experienced WR who knows their system for only $1.2 Million.

Darius Slayton – New York Giants (3%)

Shameless plug: I had Slayton in my Sleepers article last week. (Fantasy Sleepers to Target in Week 5 | 2024 Fantasy Football – playerprofiler.com) If you enjoy this article, you’ll like the Sleepers article. I drop it right here every Friday or Saturday.

Slayton was terrific filling in for Malik Nabers. He finished with eight catches for 111 yards and a TD. When Nabers returns, Slayton will go back to his No. 3 target role, but he deserves a mention for his performance.

Jalen Coker – Carolina (0%)

Proud to say I have Coker on a very deep dynasty roster! He participated in the NFL Combine out of Holy Cross last season. While undrafted, Coker stuck with Carolina as a UDFA. With Legette out, Coker caught four passes for 68 yards. Very deep leaguers should consider adding him in case Legette’s shoulder injury lingers.

Xavier Hutchinson – Houston (0%)

With Nico Collins sidelined by a hamstring injury, Hutchinson becomes an interesting waiver wire Week 6 add for larger roster deep formats. Noah Brown was cut this offseason, partly due to Houston’s confidence in Hutchinson—a 7th-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He could see an outsized role alongside Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs if Collins misses time.
