Lessons Learned – Week 9 2022: Fields is Here

by Al Scherer, November 8, 2022

Posting his fourth consecutive top-8 fantasy QB finish against Miami Sunday, Fields completed 60-percent of his throws with three passing scores. But that wouldn’t be nearly the half of it. His insane 178 rushing yards on just 15 carries was the greatest regular-season rushing performance by a quarterback in NFL history and just three yards shy of Colin Kaepernick’s playoff outburst 10 years ago.

Week 9 MNF Showdown: Ravens vs Saints

by Dookie Hogue, November 7, 2022

With Mark Andrews listed as doubtful, preseason darling Isaiah Likely will be thrust into a significant role as the team’s top tight end. If he’s able to sniff Andrew’s elite 89-percent Snap Share, he’ll make for a strong play.

Kamara has come on lately, recording top-10 RB performances in three of his last four games. Last week’s triple touchdown outburst broke the seal after being held scoreless to begin the year.

Betting the Spread Week 9

by Shervon Fakhimi, November 5, 2022

Remember last week when I hyped up Mike Gesicki and talked about how good a matchup the Lions are for tight ends? If you don’t, here’s a refresher. The Lions have conceded a touchdown and/or allowed at least 49 receiving yards to a tight end in every game except against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. Sure enough, Mike Gesicki found the end zone last week. Enter Robert Tonyan. Tonyan’s usage has been spotty this season, but it also has been ramping up lately.

Best Pick ‘Em Player Props: Week 9

by Ahaan Rungta, November 5, 2022

Vegas has the total points line of this game set at 49.5. The total is tied for the highest on the Week 9 Sunday slate. This means the books expect offense. It is no surprise that since the departure of Davante Adams, the No. 1 option in this Packers attack has been Aaron Jones. What’s been slightly difficult to project is how much of his involvement is split between rushing and receiving. While he has cleared this rushing number only three times this season, everything points to the value in the over in Week 9.

Week 9 WR-CB Matchups: Time to Trust Terrace Marshall

by Aaron Stewart, November 4, 2022

The Cardinals’ weakness on defense is yards after catch (they allow the most in the NFL). Meanwhile, Lockett is No. 55 in Yards After Catch with 83 and averaging 1.4 per target.

Marshall’s snaps, routes run, and targets have gone up each week, culminating in a 9-target Week 8 performance where he finished with 12.7 (No. 29) fantasy points. In Week 7, Carter had a 94-percent Snap Share, saw 7 targets, and finished with over 70 Air Yards.

Air Yards DFS Value Index Week 9

by Edward DeLauter, November 2, 2022

D.J. Moore has graduated to the paying up section after two consecutive face melting performances as the Panthers primary offensive weapon. He has seen double digit targets in back-to-back weeks and saw 250 Air Yards last week which included this dope pass from P.J. Walker. Look for D.J. Moore to continue on this trend against Eli Apple and the Bengals in week nine. This is likely the last time he is priced below $6,000, get him in your cash lineup while you can, although he may be too chalky for tournaments.

For the second consecutive week Darnell Moony is the top Air Yards Value play. He finished last week with 12 fantasy points securing five receptions for 70 yards. Mooney posted these numbers despite seeing a season low 28 Air Yards, a figure that will likely increase to his season average of 70.9 this week. He remains an intriguing play in all formats heading into a potential barnburner against the Dolphins.

2022 Matchup Monitor Week 9

by Aditya Fuldeore, November 2, 2022

Entering Week 8, the Raiders were the No. 4 best matchup for QBs in both passing and rushing points allowed. Las Vegas’ defense has allowed 10 passing touchdowns and gotten just one interception over its last four games. This is a juicy enough matchup to where you must consider Lawrence in a week where six teams are on bye. Comfortably fire up Lawrence this week.

Despite back-to-back poor showings, the Arizona secondary has been surprisingly solid against opposing WRs. They have allowed just two WR touchdowns in their last six games, both coming in the last two weeks to back-up WRs. Metcalf will face Byron Murphy, a top-20 CB in PlayerProfiler’s Cornerback Rankings. Metcalf was held to two receptions on seven targets last time against Arizona and Murphy.

Hitchhiker’s Guide to RB Week 9: Foreman of the Jury

by Jakob Sanderson, November 1, 2022

Welcome to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to RB for Week 9! Normally, I start this column off with the same introduction each week. I talk about what this column covers, and frankly attempt to get out of my own way given each edition typically stretches 4,000-5,000 words. However, this week I can do no such thing. Fantasy Football is at times a remarkably frustrating game. You’re taking large stands at thin margins which often go awry. Even when you hit big on a talent profile, you can still come away fruitless due to team circumstance, bad luck, or injury. Therefore, I think we all deserve to breathe in the air when the winds are favorable.

Lessons Learned Week 8- 2022

by Al Scherer, November 1, 2022

If not for Elliott’s contract, and Jerry Jones’s unwillingness to admit a mistake, Pollard would be Dallas’s lead back. To Elliott’s dismay, he sat out Week 8 against the run sieve known as the Chicago Bears while Pollard exploded for 131 rushing yards and three scores on just 14 carries. That’s 9.4 Yards per Carry, folks. Elliott has never put up 9.4 Yards per Carry in 99 career regular-season or playoff starts. In the 19 career games, when Pollard has been given 10 or more carries, he averages 5.9 Yards per Carry. Only two backs this year, Khalil Herbert and Travis Etienne, are averaging more. Only Rashaad Penny did better last year.
