Deshaun Watson has been ruled OUT week 6 Vs the 49ers
Browns QB Deshaun Watson has been ruled out for a second straight week with a shoulder injury. Watson being out comes as a surprise after the QB had been saying he would play in week 4 before testing the shoulder before the game and telling the staff he couldn’t go. Cleveland then went into a bye week in week 5 and Watson came out of it no better than in week 4 not practicing and being ruled out again.
The Watson shoulder injury is befuddling and there is a sense of dissatisfaction from the Browns coaches with Watson for not playing. It’s officially being called a right rotator cuff contusion, but recent reports say he may miss multiple more weeks with the injury. This is dreadful news for the Browns and fantasy managers of Browns receivers. In Watsons last game he seemed to be getting more comfortable in the offense posting a 27/33 289yd 2TD passing line in a soft matchup. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson Robinson started for Watson the next week and nuked the values of all the pass catchers in the offense.
With Watson possibly missing multiple weeks according to recent reports it is safe to drop him from fantasy teams if you haven’t done so already. Amari Cooper is a sell if you can guy and an emergency start without Watson in the lineup. Elijah Moore had promising usage and fantasy managers might have been holding on waiting for him to get comfortable with Watson but that dream is now dead as well. In the one start we got from Dorian Thompson Robinson all pass catchers failed, and now the team plans to start former XFL star QB PJ Walker who only has 7 career NFL starts, and only 2 games in those 7 starts with over 200 passing yards. To make matters worse the Cleveland Browns opponent this week are the San Francisco 49ers who boast the NFLs best defense and team through 5 weeks. Avoid the Browns players at all cost.
