DeAndre Hopkins and the Baltimore Ravens agree to a 1-year, $5 million deal.
The Baltimore Ravens signed future hall-of-fame receiver DeAndre Hopkins to a cheap one-year deal late in day 2 of free agency. The veteran quietly recorded 56 grabs for 610 yards and 5 touchdowns with the Titans and Chiefs last year.
The numbers weren’t too bad for Hopkins, though they did decline late in the year with the emergence of Xavier Worthy and the return of Hollywood Brown. The Ravens are hoping to squeeze as much juice as they can out of the 32-year-old.
While this isn’t as intriguing as another 32-year-old Davante Adams going to LA to catch passes from Matt Stafford, Hopkins may be in a position to retain value in 2025. Dynasty contenders may look to acquire him for cheap as a one-year rental.
Hopkins’ presence will hopefully benefit the development of players like Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. It also signals the final death rattle for any Devontez Walker truthers who may or may not still exist.
