Eagles Release Veteran WR John Ross from Practice Squad

The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran wide receiver John Ross from their practice squad on Tuesday. Ross, a former first-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 NFL Draft, had initially joined the Eagles this offseason following a tryout at rookie minicamp. Although he was waived during final roster cuts, he was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad in September.

Ross briefly retired in July 2022. John Ross, drafted ninth overall by the Bengals in 2017, has recorded 62 catches for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns in 37 career games. Known for his blazing 4.22-second 40-yard dash, he last played in the NFL during the 2021 season. It has been a disappointing career for Ross but we shall see if any teams may look to add Ross in the upcoming days.
