Multiple reports state that the New England Patriots could lean on Jacoby Brissett as their starting quarterback all season.
Due to the Patriots having a shoddy offensive line, the organization’s brass could have Jacoby Brissett start all year long. With previous quarterback Mac Jones getting his confidence knocked out of him in recent years, the Patriots might be hesitant to start rookie Drake Maye to prevent him from having the same fate. Brissett signed with his former team earlier this offseason after playing for multiple teams over the last several years.
In eight seasons, Brissett has thrown for 10,574 yards, rushed for 915 yards, totaled 66 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions. When Brissett has played at least 15 games, he’s averaged 2,883 yards passing, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Last season in Washington, Brissett had zero starts and only played in three games.
This Patriots offense may be one that dynasty and fantasy managers should avoid. In single-quarterback leagues, Brissett must be left on the waiver wire, and only be considered rostering in two-quarterback and super-leagues as a late-round pick. Even then Brissett is likely a couple of bad outings away from being replaced by Maye anyway.
