Jalen Hurts
Philadelphia Eagles Hire Kellen Moore as Offensive Coordinator
9 months ago

The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Kellen Moore to be their offensive coordinator.

The Eagles are changing direction and hiring former Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to the same position. He spent four years developing an innovative offense for the Dallas Cowboys before becoming offensive coordinator for the Chargers in 2023. While the Chargers’ offense couldn’t find much consistency, Moore is still regarded as one of the best offensive coordinators in the game.

While the Eagles have plenty of talent at the skill positions, their offense also fell flat at the end of the season. Moore’s offenses have traditionally been more pass-friendly, ranking in the top 10 pass attempts four out of the past five seasons. He utilizes more pre-snap motion as well, which should bode well for AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.

As a result, fantasy managers should see an uptick in the Eagles’ pass attempts in 2024, however, with Jalen Hurts as their signal caller they will still be among the league leaders in rush attempts. It’s easy to recommend Brown, Smith, and Dallas Goedert as dynasty buys. Nonetheless, Smith and Dallas Goedert may struggle to reach their fantasy potential when all three are available.

Each is extremely talented though and Brown and Smith should be fixtures in fantasy lineups again. Neither will return major value at their current cost, but they are very talented and safe assets in dynasty fantasy football leagues. On the other hand, fantasy managers might have seen the best of Goedert over these last couple of seasons. Given how many touchdowns Hurts accounts for as a runner and the talent of their top two receivers, he will likely be the odd man out more than not. Consider trading him for an early to mid-second-round pick in a deep 2024 wide receiver class.
