Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders' Draft Stock Heating Back Up
7 months ago

Mel Kiper’s latest mock draft has New Orleans taking Shedeur at 9th overall.

After news surfaced last week about the Saints’ current QB Derek Carr still struggling with complications from a shoulder injury sustained late last season. The question has been asked will New Orleans be addressing Quarter Back in this draft?

The question is has Sanders stock fallen enough for him to be there? With Cleveland having strong tie to Travis Hunter lately they seem out on Sanders, NYG have definitely been strongly linked to him but whispers of late have them taking Abdul Carter, the Raiders and Jets are also possibilities and in the case of Vegas they hosted Sanders for a visit. However Vegas have very strong links to Ashton Jeanty and the Jets have recently acquired Justin Fields and rumours have them taking Offensive Line. Which would leave the Saints with a big decision on their hands.

The Saints have not had Sanders in for a team visit. The Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers are his only official team visits. However with the news of Carr’s shoulder only coming to light last week could that have forced them to change their plans?

The last wrinkle in this is the Carolina Panthers who pick at 8 just before New Orleans have indicated that they are willing to trade their pick for the right deal. With the Steelers the most likely to do that from outside the top 10. Could Carolina profit off a QB needy team and hurt a division rival at the same time?
