Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Antonio Pierce has named Sincere McCormick the RB1, even when Alexander Mattison is healthy.
It’s been a long journey from undrafted Texas – San Antonio running back to NFL starter for Sincere McCormick, but amidst a lost season for the Las Vegas Raiders, McCormick has established himself as the lead guy in the RB room for the remainder of the year. McCormick was signed as a UDFA in 2022 and spent the season on IR. He managed to stay in the building in 2023 and most of 2024 while on the practice squad, before his number was called after injuries to Zamir White and Alexander Mattison, and a lack of confidence in rookie Dylan Laube. McCormick joined Ameer Abdullah in the Raiders’ backfield and outperformed him. Antonio Pierce has announced that McCormick will now be the lead back in Vegas, even when Mattison returns from injury.
McCormick garnered 27 carries and 4 catches in action against the Chiefs and Buccaneers, good for 142 rushing yards over the two games and a tidy 5.2 yards per carry. Although he has yet to find the end zone, a 10-point floor with the upside to add a score has made McCormick the 6th most added player on Sleeper. If you need RB help in the playoffs, McCormick could sincerely be a league-winner. Measure your expectations in Dynasty, however, as McCormick’s lack of draft capital and limited profile make him easily expendable in 2025.
