Alexander Mattison Bio

Alexander Mattison is a running back for the Minnesota Vikings. He spent three college seasons at Boise State University, compiling 2,828 rushing yards, 511 yards, and 34 total touchdowns in 38 games. He was named the Offensive MVP of the 2018 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game after posting a 200-yard, one-touchdown performance. He declared for the 2019 NFL draft after his junior season.

Alexander Mattison recorded a 74th percentile Burst Score and 67th-percentile bench press at the 2019 NFL Combine, but only a 25th-percentile 40-yard Dash and a 47th-percentile Agility Score. He was drafted in the third round of the draft by the Vikings and played second fiddle to Dalvin Cook on the depth chart for his first four seasons. Mattison rushed for nearly 500 yards in each of his three seasons in the NFL and shined in Cook's absence. Mattison became the starter in 2023 when Cook left in free agency, but underperformed with just 641 Yards Created (No. 34) and -37.2 Expected Points Added (No. 139).
