Allen Lazard is headed to the IR, according to the team’s Twitter/X Feed.
Noted second best friend of Aaron Rodgers, Allen Lazard will miss at least 4 games due to a chest injury. The news came shortly before the Week 9 game against the Texans. The main benefactors from this injury are Aaron’s first bestie, Davante Adams, who went 7 for 91 and a score, and Garrett Wilson, who score two touchdowns (one being the greatest catch of the season) on 9 catches for 90 yards. The Jets dominated the Texans in the second half, with the performance of Rodgers and his two wideouts.
What this means is that Lazard is the odd man out with the two superstars at the WR1 and 2 positions. His value is already reduced to less than relevant, but sitting out for 4 games might make it all but disappear. This only adds value to Wilson and Adams, as was showcased last night.

The New York Jets have made a splash trade, acquiring star Wide Receiver Davante Adams from the Raiders, in exchange for a conditional 3rd round pick. Rodgers and Adams are reunited after spending 8 years in Green Bay together.
The saga is finally over. Davante Adams has a new home in the New York Jets, reuniting with his former Green Bay Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This is fantastic news for Adams, who has seemingly languished on the Las Vegas roster for the last season and a half without Derek Carr. The news comes just a day after the Jets lost to the division rival Bills, in a game where the offense did look much improved with the demotion of Nate Hackett. Adams has been dealing with a hamstring injury since Week 3, but look for that to miraculously heal at the sight of his new jersey.
The fantasy impact is that Adams should be able to reignite his top-10 status with Rodgers, but it might take a game or two to get back on the same page. Regarding the other options on the Jets roster, Garrett Wilson has had two back-to-back break-out weeks. He goes from being the #1 in the Offense to the WR2, which should fit his style better, as only Allen Lazard was the second option behind him. Speaking of Lazard, we could only hope that it makes him more irrelevant for fantasy, but his familiarity with Rodgers has allowed him to score some improbable catches of late (see the Hail Mary at the end of the half Monday night for proof).
All in all, this is a boost for the moribund offense that was stuck in the mud for the last two games. They are moving in the right direction with Todd Downing, and this addition might be the one that puts them over the top.

Robert Saleh has been fired by the New York Jets, according to Adam Schefter.
After a loss to the Vikings in London on Sunday, the Jets owner, Woody Johnson, has decided that the franchise is moving in a different direction, after Saleh’s 20-36 record in 5 years. Defensive Coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, will be the interim head coach.
The impact of this fantasy-wise is hard to know, considering Saleh was a defensive-minded head coach. Nate Hackett is still the OC (for now), and they still have 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers at the reins. The offensive output in the last 5 games to start the season has produced similar results as last year, so this firing makes little sense this early in the season with their “new” QB.
Watch for any news of Hackett’s firing, as that will have a direct impact on the skill players involved. The Jets’ defense, which has performed fairly well this year, despite key injuries, may take a slight hit from Saleh’s departure.
