The Bears have selected Kansas Edge Rusher Austin Booker with the 144th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Austin Booker was a redshirt freshman for Minnesota in 2021, in 2022 he appeared in only 6 games as a reserve. For the 2023 season Booker transferred to Kansas where he produced team-leading 12 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and played in 12 games with one start.
At the NFL Combine the 6’4″ 240-pound Edge Rusher from Kansas put up a 4.79 40-yard dash, 32.5″ vertical, and a broad jump of 10′. Booker does not have much experience beside this last year, he does have one of the more upsides in this draft at the edge position. If he can add mass to his big frame and shed blockers he can disrupt the plays in the backfield.
With getting drafted by the Chicago Bears he will help get pressure on the defensive of line. He will be good rotational in the passing downs, as for the early downs he will need to build strength the shed off blocks.
