The Washington Commanders have traded pass rusher Chase Young to the San Fransisco 49ers for a 3rd round draft pick
The rich get richer as San Fransisco has acquired talented pass rusher Chase Young from the Washington Commanders for a 3rd round draft pick. No team in the NFL has more draft capital invested in their defensive line. However, outside of Nick Bosa the defensive line has fallen short of expectations. Young should be a factor in the rotation right away along side Randy Gregory.
The move isn’t surprising as the defense hasn’t looked as formidable in recent weeks and the 49ers have dropped three straight. The pick traded was a compensatory pick too with Young in the final year of his rookie deal. Never quite meeting expectations in Washington, this is a low risk move for both sides and a fresh start for Young. Nonetheless, a full time role shouldn’t be expected initially considering the talent that is already on the roster.
