The Detroit Lions take Boston College guard, Christian Mahogany, at 210th overall in the NFL Draft.
The Detroit Lions draft BC guard, Christian Mahogany, at 210th overall. Mahogany played 34 games with the Eagles and was run game mauler. He will bring his power, technique, and ferocity to the Lions. Detroit’s O-line has established itself as elite already. Mahogany will learn from among the league’s best and has the upside to start in the future if given the opportunity.
Mahogany is a deceptively smaller guard at 6’3″ 314 lbs. He plays big, pulls aggressively, and throws around defenders, which all make him a great fit with Detroit. On 394 snaps last year, he only allowed 7 pressures and zero sacks. However, there are some concerns with his balance, footwork, lateral quickness, plus he tore his ACL in 2022. The Lions found a great value in Mahogany, who was projected to be drafted much earlier.
