Curtis Samuel (Turf Toe) is Considered Week-to-Week
4 months ago

Bills head coach Sean McDermott considers wide receiver Curtis Samuel week-to-week with a turf toe injury.

Not only did coach Sean McDermott label Curtis Samuel as week-to-week, but he also ruled out wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling and quarterback Mitch Trubisky for multiple weeks. Samuel is the biggest blow by far as he signed a three-year $24 million deal to rejoin forces with offensive coordinator Joe Brady. Samuel flourished under Brady when they both were with the Panthers a few years ago.

Samuel is a dynamic dual-threat player who can not only make plays in the receiving game but can also be used out of the backfield as well. In seven seasons Samuel has racked up 317 receptions for 3,383 yards and rushed 121 times for 715 yards while totaling 29 touchdowns. Uniting Samuel with Josh Allen has fantasy managers excited about the possibility of them playing together.

Samuel’s ADP shouldn’t take too much of a hit as long as he returns before Week 1. Regardless, his 136 ADP will fall slightly making him a bargain for the rest of the draft season. Dynasty leaguers may have a slight window to buy low on Samuel with this news as he could provide some much-needed depth for a fantasy championship run. As for Trubisky and Valdez-Scantling, cut bait and don’t look back.

Keon Coleman Has Risen Precipitously on UnderDog
4 months ago

The Bills rookie wide receiver has risen up significantly on UnderDog from the Pre-NFL draft process to now.

Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman has risen up draft boards significantly since the Pre-NFL Draft to today. Of note, Keon Coleman has moved up 60.9 spots from round 12 on UnderDog to round 7.

There is largely a bearish sentiment on Keon Coleman due to his inability to create separation ala Stefon Diggs. Psychologically, there is a difficulty reconciling Keon Coleman not being Stefon Diggs while having the issue of not offering the agility in route running his predecessor provided.

Josh Allen’s career took off once he had Stefon Diggs in town. The concern isn’t whether or not Josh Allen can thrive, rather if Keon Coleman can garner enough attention in the Bills offense to draw significant enough target share to warrant being selected in round 7. Tight end Dalton Kincaid goes in round 5 and is being hyped as the focal point in the Bills offense in the same vein as Travis Kelce is used on the Chiefs.

With the concern of Dalton Kincaid being the alpha target hog in the Bills offense, Coleman also has to deal with Curtis Samuel having an edge in experience having worked with offensive coordinator Joe Brady prior. Add in the Bills expected proclivity to run the ball more with James Cook and Josh Allen calling his own number, keeping a level headed approach when selecting Keon Coleman in drafts will prove wise. Incorporate a low 4-8% requisite exposure or fade all together, but don’t get caught with heavy bags on the Bills rookie wideout.

Curtis Samuel Will be Joining the Bills

The Buffalo Bills will be signing wide receiver Curtis Samuel to a three-year deal.

The Bills have legitimately improved their wide receiving room, by signing Curtis Samuel to a three-year, $24 million deal. After letting Gabe Davis walk, the arrival of Samuel will bring more consistency to Buffalo’s passing game. As long as Samuel can stay healthy he should be an excellent complement to Stefon Diggs.

Over the last two seasons with the Commanders, Samuel has averaged 91.5 targets and 63 receptions, while totaling 1,269 receiving yards, 226 rushing yards, and 10 total touchdowns. Samuel will be reunited with Bills’ offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The last time these two were together in 2020, Samuel set career highs for receptions (77), receiving yards (851), and rushing yards (200).

The veteran receiver will finally have an All-Pro quarterback tossing passes his way. With Josh Allen targeting him, Samuel could be at the very least a solid WR3 for fantasy managers in 2024. Whether your buying or selling Samuel in dynasty, one should be able to get a mid-second rounder for him now.

Washington Commanders Fire Head Coach Ron Rivera
11 months ago

The Washington Commanders have announced the decision to move on from Head Coach Ron Rivera.

The Washington Commanders have fired  Head Coach Ron Rivera as the team will look to move in a different direction in 2024. While Rivera is known as a players’ coach, he was only 26-40-1 through four seasons in Washington. The Commanders have already requested the right to interview several candidates, including Dan Quinn, Mike MacDonald, and Anthony Weaver.

Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy will also likely be a candidate, however, the offense will certainly be going through changes this offseason. A new offensive philosophy combined with the No.2 pick in the NFL Draft will brighten the 2024 fantasy outlook of Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel. They haven’t had a reliable signal caller in this offense since Kirk Cousins, and it is thought the Commanders may look to select a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft.

This offense will again be a huge question mark in 2024, nonetheless, there is nowhere to go but up. Even when Sam Howell was succeeding this past season, he still failed to connect with the team’s best offensive player (McLaurin). The pieces are in place, and with improvements at quarterback, offensive line, defense, and head coach, this team could surprise people in 2024.

Curtis Samuel Out Week 9; Dotson & Crowder Expected to Step Up
1 year ago

Curtis Samuel will miss week 9’s matchup against the New England Patriots with a Toe Injury

Curtis Samuel suffered a toe injury in Washington’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles and won’t play week 9. He didn’t practice all week so it’s no surprise he won’t be able to suit up. Samuel had put together a productive season thus far and is the WR38 in fantasy on the season.

Washington will now turn to Jahan Dotson and Jamison Crowder who both had productive games against Philadelphia in week 8. However, Sam Howell isn’t likely to finish as the QB1 overall in fantasy again and Dotson is the much better option. After a slow start to the season Dotson finally broke out and is coming off a 8 reception, 108 yard, and 1 touchdown effort. He’s received 18 targets over the last two weeks and will be a WR3 for fantasy against he Patriots.
