Dalvin Cook Signs with the Cowboys.

Dalvin Cook signs to Cowboys practice squad after visit.

Dalvin Cook is officially a Dallas Cowboy after taking a visit earlier in the week.  The 29 year old Cook, who spent last season with the Jets and Ravens totaled 214 scoreless yards on 67 carries last year.  Cook adds depth to the Cowboys running back room, which already includes Ezekiel Elliot and Rico Dowdle.  Jerry Jones seems to be very excited about the signing, adding that he expects Cook to learn the system and that he could really help them out this year.

Dalvin Cook has rushed for 6,207 rushing yards, has 1,872 receiving yards and 52 total touchdowns in seven seasons.  It is likely that the best days of his career are behind him, but this is a note worthy signing due to the high octane nature of the Cowboys offense, if he is able to earn the majority of the touches he will be a viable flex option.   Cook should be picked up immediately in 12 team or deeper leagues.

Dalvin Cook signs with the Ravens Before Week 18
10 months ago

Dalvin Cook signs with the Ravens for playoff run.

The Baltimore Ravens are loading up for a playoff run in hopes of finally winning a Lombardi trophy. Thursday heading into week 18 the Ravens signed former pro bowl RB Dalvin Cook to the team.

Cook signed with the New York Jets in the offseason in hopes of riding Aaron Rodgers coattails to a championship run. Unfortunately that dream died in week 1 when Rodgers tore his Achilles on the first possession of the year. The Jets have since cut Dalvin Cook due to his truly poor performance with the team. Cook however has not given up on his hunt for a ring, and has now landed with top AFC Contender Baltimore.

The Ravens have had plenty of stuggles keeping their RBs healthy the past few years, so adding veteran depth makes sense for the squad. Although Justice Hill and Gus “Bus” Edwards figure to continue being the 1-2 punch the Ravens deploy in the playoffs. Cook is well cooked and he shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than insurance at this point of his career.

Breece Hall And Dalvin Cook Will Both Play In Opener
1 year ago

New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh confirmed today that both Breece Hall And Dalvin Cook will see action on the road in Week 1 versus Buffalo.

In a bout of good news for the Jets, Robert Saleh told reporters Breece Hall’s absence from practice was purely a maintenance day and he will play Week 1.  Both Breece Hall and newly acquired free agent RB Dalvin Cook will see work against the Bills. The head coach didn’t go into specific detail but did say the Jets would be “smart with Hall in his return”, per Ian Rappaport.

Consider both Jet running backs as fantasy RB2s. Dalvin Cook projects to have a lower ceiling and higher floor despite touchdown equity, with Hall needing to thrive on efficiency. That said, if Breece Hall is in fact game-ready and in line to split touches at full strength, he can explode. The former 36th overall pick posted top-5 metrics among all RBs on both sides of the offense last year in Yards Per Attempt (5.8), Yards After Contact Per Attempt (4.12), EPA/Rush (0.15), Explosive Rush Rate (15.0%), Target Per Route (28.7%), Yards Per Route (2.02), and Yards Per Reception (11.5).
