Dan Arnold Bio

Dan Arnold is a tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was an undrafted free agent initially signed by the New Orleans Saints, was signed to a 2-year $6 million contract by the Carolina Panthers, and then traded to Jacksonville before ever suiting up for the Panthers. He grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin, and then played college football at University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he also ran the 110m hurdles in track. His college stats peaked in his final year, with 921 receiving yards in 10 games. At 6’5” 240 lbs, with a 4.68 40-yard dash and a 95th percentile catch radius thanks to his 32 ⅛” arms, Arnold is an impressive athlete with mouth-watering upside.

Dan Arnold has yet to take on a full-time role in his four seasons in the NFL. His snap share of 51.3% in 2021 was a career high, but his career high in air yards came in 2020 with 561 air yards while he was on the Cardinals. His 2020 ADOT of 12.5 led all tight ends, but he saw it plummet to 6.4 in his first season with the Jaguars. Despite this, he saw a target on 22.7% of his routes in 2021, compared with 15.5% in 2020. Additionally, he improved his yards per route run from 1.51 in 2020 to 1.81 in 2021.

Arnold is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2022 season, and he will have a new head coach in Doug Pederson. He is practically free in Underdog early 2022 best ball drafts, with an ADP of 185.4, where he is the 23rd tight end off the board. He should be after the Jaguars brought in Evan Engram in free agency.
