The New York Jets have made a splash trade, acquiring star Wide Receiver Davante Adams from the Raiders, in exchange for a conditional 3rd round pick. Rodgers and Adams are reunited after spending 8 years in Green Bay together.
The saga is finally over. Davante Adams has a new home in the New York Jets, reuniting with his former Green Bay Quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This is fantastic news for Adams, who has seemingly languished on the Las Vegas roster for the last season and a half without Derek Carr. The news comes just a day after the Jets lost to the division rival Bills, in a game where the offense did look much improved with the demotion of Nate Hackett. Adams has been dealing with a hamstring injury since Week 3, but look for that to miraculously heal at the sight of his new jersey.
The fantasy impact is that Adams should be able to reignite his top-10 status with Rodgers, but it might take a game or two to get back on the same page. Regarding the other options on the Jets roster, Garrett Wilson has had two back-to-back break-out weeks. He goes from being the #1 in the Offense to the WR2, which should fit his style better, as only Allen Lazard was the second option behind him. Speaking of Lazard, we could only hope that it makes him more irrelevant for fantasy, but his familiarity with Rodgers has allowed him to score some improbable catches of late (see the Hail Mary at the end of the half Monday night for proof).
All in all, this is a boost for the moribund offense that was stuck in the mud for the last two games. They are moving in the right direction with Todd Downing, and this addition might be the one that puts them over the top.

The Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams has been ruled out for Week 4 as the Raiders host the Cleveland Browns.
The Las Vegas Raiders are 1-2 on the season after a blowout loss to Carolina in Week 3 and the last thing they needed was bad injury news. Unfortunately for the team, they couldn’t get through the week with good fortune. The Raiders’ leading wide receiver Davante Adams will miss the Week 4 tilt against Cleveland due to a hamstring injury.
Adams leads the Raiders in snap %, targets, receptions, and yards. Currently the PPR WR16, the Adams injury is just the next in a litany of injuries throughout the NFL in the early part of the season. It’s also not ideal for the Raiders as a whole.
The Adams injury will increase the target share for TE Brock Bowers, the Raiders’ 2nd leading pass catcher, as well as Jakobi Meyers who is primarily a slot receiver but can move to the X wideout position in place of Adams. Tre Tucker, the team’s WR3, remans a boom/bust candidate.
The Raiders will not be trading Davante Adams.
It has been rumored for quite some time that the Las Vegas Raiders would entertain trading away wide receiver Davante Adams. The heavy speculation was that Adams would be a New York Jet in a reunion with QB Aaron Rodgers.
Las Vegas GM Tom Telesco was asked about the idea and intimated that there would be no such event. “He’s a Raider.”
Additionally, the Raiders announced they would not be franchise tagging running back Josh Jacobs. Jacobs will be able to explore deals from other teams in free agency.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest as the Raiders travel to LA to face the Chargers.
The Las Vegas Raiders will be significantly less handsome this week as they travel to LA to face the Chargers. Jimmy “Jimmy G” Garoppolo has been ruled out after suffering a concussion in last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Garoppolo has not played a full season’s compliment of games since 2019 with the 49ers.
Jimmy G suffered the concussion at some point in the Steelers game but was able to continue playing. He entered concussion protocol this week and was designated OUT on Saturday, even as his condition was reported to have improved throughout the week.
Davante Adams will be without his primary passer for the third time in his stint with the Raiders. Whether he will be improving the overall fantasy performance of Raiders backup Brian Hoyer, or rookie 4th Round pick Aidan O’Connell has not been announced yet.
