David Johnson has officially retired from the NFL after seven seasons in the league with three teams.
David Johnson, former All-Pro running back for the Arizona Cardinals, has announced his retirement from professional football.
Johnson’s career began in 2015, when he was drafted 86th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. He quickly made a name for himself earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2016. He rewarded fantasy owners with a monster season, rushing for 1239 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, while also providing 80 receptions for 879 receiving yards with four more receiving touchdowns.
An unfortunate wrist injury derailed his 2017 season for the Cardinals, and he’d be a contributor to their team through the 2019 season. Johnson would eventually go on to play for the Houston Texans from 2020-2021, and finally with the New Orleans Saints in the 2022 season.
