Dontayvion Wicks joined Virginia as a member of their 2019 recruiting class. He only appeared in three games as a freshman and miss the entirety of his 2020 season aftering suffering an injury in preseason camp.
2021 was a successful comeback season for Wicks. In 12 games, he led Virginia in receptions (57), receiving yards (1203), and receiving touchdowns (9). His 21.1 yards per reception led the ACC while his 1203 receiving yards set a single-season Virginia record. Wicks came back for a fourth season in 2022, but unfortunately an injury shortened his season. He finished the year second on the team in receptions (30) and receiving yards (430).
