The 49ers rookie wide receiver has his work cut out for him in a hyper-competitive offense.
Adam Schefter reports that 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has been activated off of the non-football injury list. The first round pick will have plenty to catch up to while onboarding against stiff competition for targets from Brock Purdy.
Currently, the 49ers are in an imbroglio with star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and All-Pro tackle Trent Williams, both of whom want brand new deals. Ricky Pearsall is a rare contingent play at the wide receiver position who would vault up draft boards in the event Brandon Aiyuk gets traded.
Ricky Pearsall is being drafted in the 13th round on UnderDog. The value to be mined for 49ers pass catchers is none other than George Kittle who is going in round 6 on UnderDog. Since 2018, Kittle has 6 consecutive fantasy points per game finishes in the top-6 or higher. Drafters should be increasing their exposure to George Kittle at ADP knowing he would have a much more impactful ADP spike than Ricky Pearsall in the event Brandon Aiyuk is traded away.

George Kittle is recovering from a core muscle surgery that caused him to lose 30 pounds over the offseason.
Kittle got the surgery to address a core injury he picked up midway through last year. Kittle continued to play through the injury last year while going on to lead the NFL in tight end receiving yards.
Fantasy Managers should take note of Kittle’s undeniable toughness in this situation. While Kittle has dealt with his fair share of injuries and some will question his durability, he’s made it clear he will do anything in his power to be on the field if possible. Kittle should be able to regain the weight he lost over the summer and be full healthy by the time the season comes around.
Super Bowl LVIII will be played with the two best Tight Ends in the NFL on the field, according to Travis Kelce.
Travis Kelce can be a bit of a nuisance to opponents, as evidenced by him throwing Justin Tucker’s helmet across the endzone during pregame warmups last weekend. For the upcoming matchup against the 49ers, he chose to take the high road, not mincing words when he called George Kittle the best Tight End in Football.
Kelce went on to praise Kittle’s ability to propel the 49ers to new heights, and also offered some kind words to who Kittle is as a person. While Kelce finished the season with 93 catches compared to Kittle’s 65, Kittle was able to do more with his opportunities, scoring one more touchdown and accumulating 36 more receiving yards.
Although Kittle is 30 years old and has acquired his fair share of bumps and bruises during his 7 years in the NFL, he is still as explosive as anyone at the position, leading the league this year in both receiving yards and yards per catch for tight end’s with more than 15 targets. Kittle has a chance to win his first Super Bowl and cement himself as the best Tight End in Football next Sunday.
