Mason Taylor made an excellent impression at the 2025 NFL Combine.
LSU tight end Mason Taylor impressed at the NFL Combine. Mason is the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor. Taylor made his best impression during the gauntlet drill.
Mason Taylor made the gauntlet drill look easy. Normally a drill that piques the interest for wide receivers, Taylor glided effortlessly while changing direction in rapid succession without any drops.
As a junior, Taylor had 55 receptions for 546 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Between his impressive performance at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine, Mason Taylor is creating cumulative credit towards boosting his draft stock. Expect his stock to rise while position peers Harold Fannin Jr. and Gunnar Helm drop due to poor 40-yard dash times.

After an impressive week at the Senior Bowl, NFL teams will be moving up tight end Mason Taylor on their draft boards.
The tight end class showed out very well in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. Miami’s Elijah Arroyo boosted his draft stock greatly and put himself on the map in a big way, however Mason Taylor had plenty of echoed praise in his direction as well.
Mason Taylor is able to move around the formation and offers versatility that will help him get on the field at the next level. Oftentimes, the fantasy community falls in love with the skill-set of a Kyle Pitts type and forgets about the blocking element that NFL teams highly value.
Mason Taylor showed his strong hands and ability to high point the football in 1 on 1 drills. Lauded for his strong hands, he was tied for 8th amongst tight ends in the nation with 8 contested catches (PFF). This was on display in front of scouts and media. Just a week ago, Mason Taylor was ranked 117th on the Pro Football Focus Big Board 2025. Taylor is now ranked 87th, drawing just behind Elijah Arroyo and just ahead of Harold Fannin Jr. in the 3rd round.

Senior Bowl Profile: Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr (6’4 230) (0stars, unranked 2021) heads to the Senior Bowl after a record-breaking season that redefined the tight end position in college football. The Bowling Green standout shattered FBS single-season records for tight ends with 1,555 receiving yards, 117 receptions, 119.6 receiving yards per game on 9 receptions per game. His hands and ball-tracking ability make him a reliable target down field, while his stop-start agility and lateral quickness allow him to turn short catches into explosive plays after the catch.
At the Senior Bowl, Fannin will look to showcase his unique athletic traits against top competition and quiet questions about the validity of his historically elite production profile.
